I was shooting some ideas around with a few friends about pokemon and eventually we got to how ripped off fire pokemon have gotten. In the midst of all this we talked about type combos and realized that a Fire/Grass pokemon would be the best possible combo for a fire type.
It'd be neutral to ground and water as well as ice and fire. It's only weaknesses would be rock, poison, and flying. Poison attacks are rare and flying moves are typically readable from a mile away, which leaves rock attacks as its only problem. It would still suffer from stealth rock, but with how much recovery moves grass types have, that shouldn't be an issue. Plus, it'd be risky to use a STAB'd rock move since grass moves would be super effective.
What do you guys think?

I think its a good idea but i don't think the creators of pokemon would make it due to the fact that they like to keep it as real as possible and fire tends to burn grass.

Sometimes I invent pokémon for my own amusement... I think my next pokémon will be Fire/Grass-type.
That really is a cool combo.

I can sort of visualise the Grass/Fire pokemon SJ but you'd have to keep the fire away from the grass which would make it look more like a pokemon fusion but i'm sure you have your own ideas for your drawing.

I think its a good idea but i don't think the creators of pokemon would make it due to the fact that they like to keep it as real as possible and fire tends to burn grass. Well, they've made fire/steel, which should melt; water/rock, which should erode; electric/water, should shock itself. Basically, in pokemon, the term "realistic" isn't meant to exist.

i see your point, it would look pretty cool. I think that if they made it it would be a legendary just because of the type advantages.
Can anyone think on any fire moves that would work with a grass pokemon or visa versa?

Groudon can learn grass type moves (mostly just solar beam) but a grass/ fire type sounds good

This has crossed my mind.
It's been a topic of discussion at Serebii forums too. Some people that make fakemon have made fire/grass hybrids and they look very nice. You just need to plan it out and it looks good. I've seen sunflowers being this, a couple other plants, I could swear I some kind of lizards, and maybe lions. So a lot of pokemon could be made into this type.

well i was going to say a normal pokemon with a psychic move would be just as effective but it would be super effective to about 3 types[s/] rethink, it wouldn't be super effective to any types because the psychic move would need to be saved for fighting/psychic pokemon.
