Applejack sounds pretty good for an Aron. Rebel fits Machoke pretty good. He looks like a Rebel.
Current EV trained Pokemon: Jolteon (M) - Raigeki Espeon (M) - Calypso Umbreon (F) - Pantera Skarmory (M) - SoulSilver Kingdra (F) - Aurora Seadra (M) - ViperFin Sceptile (M) (Physical) - Kamotto Sceptile (M) (Special) - Basilisk Treecko (M) - Yoshi. Holding an Everstone and currently at level 42) Darmanitan (F) - Knuckles Cloyster (M) - ArmorAll Bronzong - Landcaster (I need to come up with a better nickname.) Oh, I get it. Dragonflies buzz when they fly and Yanmega's main move is Bug Buzz, so it's like he's Buzz Lightyear. Clever.

From Pokémon Online...
Egypt the Xatu Palestine the Bastiodon Mesopotamia the Ludicolo Arabia the Camerupt Syria the Arcanine Lebanon the Kingdra
For being named after such a small country, Lebanon does a lot of damage...

New Leafgreen file:
Specter the Primeape (3 internets to whoever gets the reference) Jerome the Jigglypuff Chester the Charmeleon Hillary the Drowzee
Last two spots are yet to be decided. Any nick suggestions for Pinsir?
Edit: Post 3,600. That's a nice round number.

I have no clue about your reference Goomane. But I started a pokemon brown ROM today. So far in my 10 minutes of playing I have:
A Squirtle named Abraham (evolves into a turtle tank, M1 Abrahms, therefore Abraham)
Zubat- Alucard (dracula backwards, vampire bat, boring)
Diglett- Elmer (mole pokemon, that kid Elmer from Timmy turner had a boil, boils are like moles)
Clefairy- I CLICKED 'A' TOO FAST AND COULDN'T NAME IT!!! GRRRRR once I find a name changer I'll probably name it Titania, Queen of the Faeries. If I keep it that long.

When I was a young kid I almost never nicknamed my pokemon, when I got older I just gave them normal names like Frank or Steve...don't know if that was laziness or my lack of creativity OR just my idea of pokemon being like buddies not like pets. But here's a bonus. Last time playing Pokemon Diamond I named my pokemon: Infernape - Michael Staraptor - Ray Haunter - Jack Garchomp - Geoff Luxray - Ryan Whiscash - Gavin if anyone knows, where those names come from, I'll give that person a cookie
