I never took some time to notice it before... but this forum isn't just mainly American like a lot are, or even primarily British. We have people from places I'd least expect.
I'm from Nebraska, USA (aka - Republican Country). Where do you all hail from?

I was born in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, a good mix of urban areas and nature. Throughout my life I have lived either in or around Vancouver, one of Canada's principal port cities and host of the most recent Olympics.
My father was born in Vancouver, and my mother in Abadan, Iran. My paternal grandmother is from Saskatchewan. I consider myself Canadian with Iranian and Euro-Canadian heritage.

Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.
The city above Toronto. Home to Canada's Wonderland!
But my parent's are from Italy and I don't consider myself Canadian.

When I saw the title I read it as "This forum is really dying." and I was like "What the hell?"
But anywho, Co. Louth, Ireland. Home of the worlds most radioactive beaches. Not really.

Poughkeepsie, New York, USA. We are surrounded by Republican Hicks (Rural farming area) Surrounded by Hippie Liberals (Woodstock) surrounded by even more liberal Democrats (The rest of New York.)
But luckily the hicks aren't in my direct area, and I don't have to travel that far into the country on a normal basis.

In Canada, if you live outside of any major city or city area (my city is in the GTA, Greater Toronto Area), you are a hick. Funny thing is, of the 30 million people we have, about 25 million live in said areas. We are the second largest country in the world, but the space that the majority of our people live in is the size of Sicily.
And for us, a hick is anyone who can trace back their Canadian heritage like 5 or 6 generations and is somehow part Native American. Hicks say eh, most Canadians don't,
And they aren't even really hicks, they just lack culture of any kind.

Wait. Define "Hick".
I always thought it was a person from the countryside.

Hicks are also generally illiterate and extremely right-wing.

Hicks are also generally illiterate and extremely right-wing. In Canada there isn't much of a stereotype regarding politics except for general location. Then again in Canada people only change their vote when someone ****s up, and then usually ends up voting for them again after giving someone else a few years. (See: John A McDonald, Wilfed Laurier, Mackenzie King, Trudeau, and soon probably Cretien). Remember, in Canada you can be Prime MInister as often or as long as you want. King has 21 years over 6 terms Laurier has 15 years over 4 terms Macdonald has 19 years over 6 terms Cretien has 10 years over 3 terms Trudea has 15 years over 4 terms Kim Campbell has 132 days over 0 terms (no election was held, she finished Mulroney's term) Turner has 79 days in 0 terms (took over for Trudeau) And Tupper has an astounding 68 days in 0 terms (took over for Macdonald)

Hicks are also generally illiterate. So knackers. We don't really have all that stuff in Ireland. Both major parties aren't that diffrent.
