*Ka-epic bump to announce...*
FINALLY! I FINALLY BEAT BLAZE BLACK 2 WHILE NUZLOCKING!
Lady Vasdj, my starmie died against Caitlin.
Lianne, my gliscor, died in the final battle against Iris!
But, holy cow! Bronzebeard, my conkeldurr, was MVP of the E4! Ice punch, EQ, mach punch, and bulk up won the day. He was surviving crits left and right like a champ of champs!
First, he took out Shauntel's iron-fisted Golurk and then got stuck by her shadow tag chandelure and it's freakin' air balloon. I had planned to let Deathwing, my charizard, pound that sucker, but forgot it had shadow tag. I thought it would be the end of him right at the start. Each fire blast that hit him hurt worse than the last and all I could do was give Bronzebeard full restores. I couldn't EQ and his ice punch wouldn't hurt that much. Than, she used confuse ray. I didn't know how many fire blasts were left, it hadn't been five, so I took a chance and slammed it with an ice bunch to break the balloon... and got the freeze! Confused and all, Bronzebeard finished the match with an EQ.
As for Grimsely? Not even a problem. Bronzebeard bulked up on his lead zekrom. Mach punched it and EQ'd his houndoom after eating a solarbeam. Then he gave the T-tar an EQ, since T-tar was holding an anti-fighting berry. After that, he was picking off one after the other with mach punches. Weavile? Mach punched! Bisharp? Mach punched! Krookodile? Man, there's only room for one pokemon with a ridiculous species name: mach punched!
Against Caitlin,... Ok, I didn't use him against Caitlin. She's the psychic user. Why would I?
Then along comes Marshal. Oh, that fool had no chance. Bronzebeared gave an EQ to his focus-sash-holding, speed-boosting, baton-pass-and-reversal-knowing, swords-dancing-on-the-first-turn blaziken. Second turn? Mach punched! Then he sent out his lucario. Thought one mach punch would do it in before Bronzebeard could be attacked. No dice. That mutt took a mach punch good and well and gave Bronzebeared a high jump kick to match, I respect it. But then it got mach punched! Next come in heracross. Bronzebeared tags in Deathwing, the best charizard you know!
That heracross wanted to close combat Bronzebeard, but Deathwing said, "No way, you little cockroach!" After the CC stat drop, heracross's toxic orb and guts kicked in and it was ready to deliver a stone edge. Too bad Deathwing gave a 100 base-power fire pledge to its face for the OHKO!
Marshal panicked and brought in his Sawk who tried to throw a stone edge at Deathwing, but Bronzebeard and Deathwing knew what was coming and switched out again. Bronzebeard took the stones like a champ, healed up with a full restore, bulked up and KO'd Sawk and then Throh.
Well, finally, Marshal wises up and brings out his conkeldurr. Bronzebeard gave him an EQ, but he countered with a critical, iron-fist boosted hammer arm! Both pokes were in the red and both knew mach punch. So what happened? His conkeldurr got mach punched! End match.
Finally, there was Iris... Dark Portal, my eviolite-holding porygon 2 took out her latios and would've taken down her haxorus, less the focus sash. Too bad it dragon danced and was outraging all over my team. Dark Portal nearly died and Lianne, my gliscor, did. I kept stalling with potions, hoping it would hurt itself in confusion, but it never did! After Lianne died, I sent out Bronzebeard and what happened to the haxorus? Mach punched! But all wasn't well just yet. With no bulk ups, but full hp, her hydreigon showed up. I was scared, I'll admit. A strong draco meteor could end it. But you know what happened to the hydreigon? Mach punched!
So that's three down, three to go. Bronzebeared is at full hp still as a serperior with contrary and life orb shows up and is looking to lay a leaf storm on my best pokemon. Deathwing was ready to jump in, but Bronzebeard said, "No!" Deathwing looked on as Bronzebeared spoke. "It knows draco meteor as well and is part dragon type! What will you do on the next turn? Neither your dragon pulse nor your fly is enough! And look, Dark Portal hasn't had a free turn to heal from its battle with Haxorus!"
Deathwing shouted back, "And you're not made to take special attacks! What will you do if you die?"
To which Bronzebeard replied, "I'll kill its soul one moment after you deliver a crit!" And with that, Bronzebeard charged forward, his fist covered in sub-zero power. He pushed through the blinding storm of leaves of magic that tore his body to shreds! And then, with red blood leaking from his body, he slammed the ice punch into the serperior and slew it dead!
Bronzebeard had no time to gasp and pant for air that his weakened body needed, for a multiscale, yache berry-holding dragonite appeared. Again, Deathwing urged to battle. "He's too strong for you!"
But as Bronzebeard grabbed a full restore and the dragonite danced with its fangs bared, he replied, "He's too fast for you now! If I can take a serperior's leaf storm, I can take whatever he's got!"
To test those words, the dragonite struck him with an outrage. But Bronzebeard survived into the yellow to bulk up and receive another full restore. Deathwing, nay, the whole remainder of the team and all the souls we lost stood on edge as the second outrage struck... and did less than half. As Bronzebeard took yet another outrage, dragging him again to the red, he bulked up for a second time. Taking one more full restore, the third outrage did less than a third and now the foe was confused and Bronzebeard was ready to attack. The dragonite tried to fight again, but it hurt itself in its fear of the power before it! It took an ice punch to the face, but its multi-scale and yache berry kept it well alive. Taking the moment, Bronzebeard attacked again. The dragonite tried to defend itself, but hurt itself once more. That was the last pain it felt.
With the strength of two bulk ups, Bronzebeard stood strong as the last foe, a latias appeared on the battlefield. Her cry chilled across the room! One psychic-type attack could end it. One surf could end Deathwing. An ice beam could end Garona, my serperior, and who knows if Dark Portal could endure the fight. But we all smiled. After all, if she knew psychic attacks, what kept her so long?
Unleashing a battle cry that housed the strength of our journey, Bronzebeard swung a fist that could freeze the arctic! The latias put everything she had into her dragon pulse and the mountains shook with power as every force collided and the latias fell!
Everyone let out a cheer, a cry, and a roar as the world knew my team had become what I knew they could be:
Victorious!

So, uh... heh. During the big craze over X and Y, what does the guy who's quoted in the OP of the Nuzlocke thread do? Start his very first Nuzlocke. Yes, I'd never tried it before (seemed like too daunting a task), but after absolutely tearing up White 2 I decided it was time to notch things up a bit. So I booted up my very first Pokemon game, Emerald, and after failing to figure out the soft restart for several minutes just started a new game and saved over the old one. Named my character Reid, as I always do in Hoenn, and I'm currently in Slateport with a team of Mudkip/Marill/Magikarp/Shroomish/Zigzagoon/Makuhita. Not challenging Brawly until I have a Gyarados, because screw that guy.

Do your best, Gooman!
...I thought I'd put up an explanation of what happened to my run here but it seems I was mistaken. Basically my laptop got virus'd and I lost the save file. It happens, I guess.
But yes, anyone else doing a Nuzlocke run like Gooman can feel free to tell us about it here, if they so wish.

I've just started with a new idea I had- a wonderlocke. It's a normal nuzlocke, but all pokemon are wonder traded. I've had good luck with it, too. I got level 25 marnos the tauros for my pidgey (I boxed him for now for being way overleveled, but he's definitely going to be my signature pokemon. I am a taurus after all) I also got a level 1 abra and mareep, but the exp share easily incorperated them into the team.

Started up a wonderlocke in Omega Ruby, and I've got to say, it's not easy. Traded pokemon won't obey you past level 10 until you get the first gym badge (apparently this was bumped up to 20 in X/Y but knocked back down to 10 in ORAS), which doesn't make battling a level 14 nosepass exactly easy. I've disabled exp. share though, which helps in trying not to skyrocket through the levelcap. I played the game normally until getting the PokeNav Plus, at which point I wonder-traded the tutorial poochyena and boxed torchic forever. I recieved a pikachu. I got a wurmple on route 104, and actually nearly died to Rich Boy Winston there at the mouth of the forest. He had a full restore, which is ridiculous because even the gym leader only has potions, but Pikachu pulled through. I got a growlithe in Petalburg Forest, which is awesome, but he died to a lotad on the following route (Which is actually the same route as the other side of Petalubrg Forest apparently, so no new pokemon). Obviously I couldn't challenge Roxanne with a Pikachu and Cascoon, so I continued to route 116, where i got just what I needed, a wingull. Well, the flying type wouldn't really help unless he survived to battle Brawly, and a death at the hands of Roxanne seemed all to likely, but the water type was useful. Goelise the french wingull was happily welcomed to the team, but I knew that wouldn't be enough. I snuck by the trainers of route 116 (Pikachu was already level 12 and disobeying me, I couldn't afford to overlevel the others) and slipped into Rusturf Tunnel, where I unfortunately fainted the pokemon there. So, with Pikachu, Cascoon and Goelise in tow, it was time to challenge the gym. I bought 10 potions, bringing my total to 16. I also taught Pikachu echoed voice with the TM from the kid in front of the flower shop. Being a special move, I knew it might come in handy. I battled the first two gym trainers, bringing them down easy with water gun. I skipped the last one though, as Goelise was literally 1 exp point from level 10 and I didn't want him disobeying me in the Roxanne fight. The trainers were actually carrying kind of powerful pokemon, and Goelise would easily hit level 11 if he killed Roxanne's geodude after a third trainer battle. I also gave Goelise and Cascoon oran berries, I knew I would need anything I could get for this battle. Right off the bat, rock tomb one-hits Goelise. Great. I send out Pikachu, who gets the crap kicked out of him as i spam potions and rock tomb refuses to miss. Echoed voice turns out to be a life saver, as geodude begins using defense curl after expending his rock tomb uses, and Pikachu pulls through for me. Thundershock would be a better move, if geodude weren't also ground type. I switch to Cascoon as Roxanne sends out the dreaded nosepass, and use poison sting. It poisons on the first hit! I begin using string shot to maximize the power of Pikachu's recently learned electro ball attack. Pikachu's speed debuffs from rock tomb should go away because he was switched out, and if Cascoon lowers nosepass's speed enough electro ball can do some major damage. Nosepass takes out Cascoon, and Pikachu comes out for the big hit. Except he disobeys, and nosepass begins lowering his speed with rock tomb, which continues to have perfect accuracy. I end up spamming potions as nosepass slowly succumbs to poison, but the victory is still attained. Through 10 potions and 2 pokemon deaths, I have attained the stone badge. CURRENT TEAM: Pikachu (Level 14) I was really angry about rock tomb at first, but apparently it's gotten a buff (50 power and 80 accuracy to 60 power and 95 accuracy) so that's ok. Really though, Pikachu's probably going to be through the level cap again before I get a new pokemon, due to missing my chance at Rusturf (darn quick attack did more damage than I expected, it wasn't even a crit). Things aren't looking so good for Pikachu and I.

An update on the above challenge: Brawly was tough, and Pikachu's disobedience spelled the end of him. A new member of the team, an Illumise of all pokemon, ended up being the only survivor. Things went well from there, and I ended up getting bored and quitting around Mossdeep. I've decided to create a new challenge for fun, see how it goes. A far too complicated challenge inspired by Homestuck, an even more complicated webcomic. These rules are probably unbalanced as hell, but it was fun to make at least. Now let's see if it's fun to play. Details below for anyone brave enough to read all that bullshit. Basic Nuzlocke rules, of course. You also need to throw on a randomizer (or use Wonder Trade, if you have the patience for that) for the Land mechanic to work fully. You need to split up the areas of the game you're playing into "Lands". I split Johto into 9 sections, but I've made support for up to 12. Some of them are pretty weak though. Each of these chunks of area will represent a Land from the comic, and they'll follow the same naming convention. So, they'll each be the Land of ___ and ___. For the purpose of the -locke, the first blank will be your Aspect, and the second will be your Modifier. Confused yet? I hope so. Every time you enter a new Land, you'll have to use a 1-12 RNG to determine its Aspect and Modifier from the following lists. Aspect
A Land's Aspect determines which type of Pokemon you are allowed to catch there, thus why the randomizer is handy. Each one is named after an aspect from Homestuck. Wind/Zephyr- Flying, Dragon Spirit- Ghost, Dark Clockwork- Fire, Steel Dew- Grass, Bug Pulse- Fighting, Water Frogs- Ice, Rock Brains- Psychic, Electric Mirth- Poison, Fairy Light- Water, Fire Angels- Flying, Ghost Caves- Normal, Rock Thoughts- Electric, Psychic
Modifier
Modifiers are just good or bad conditions that make this Land unique. You should reroll if you get Wrath on the first Land, and I guess you can if you get Pain, too. Rain- You cannot use fire-type moves. Heat- You cannot use ice-type moves. Silence- You do not get a free catch for every route. Tombs- Cannot use dreamself revives (We'll get into that later). Maps- You must fight every trainer possible. Wrath- You cannot go back to the previous Land until you finish this one, unless the game forces you. Pain- Cannot use Pokecenters. Thrift- Cannot use Pokemarts. Stagnation- Cannot evolve, or go to previous Lands to evolve. Bounty- You get an extra catch, or chance to catch, a pokemon in every new route.
The pokemon you obtain must go through a similar method, since they need a Class and an Aspect. The list for that is below. I could only think of conditions for six of the classes and aspects, so some have been given multiple names to give the titles of your pokemon a little more variety.
CLASS
Prince- Can only use attacking moves. Knight- Can only use one attacking move. Seer- Is allowed to switch out when the game asks if they want to. Other classes must use a Set battle style. Witch- Can only use moves of its type. Maid- Can only use non attacking moves. Page- Can only use its first attack slot. Unlocks a new slot every 10 levels. Bard- Must learn new moves as they're available. Use a 1-4 RNG to determine which move gets replaced. Sylph- Can only use special moves. Heir- Can only use physical moves. Mage- Can only use the first move it picks (Choiced, but without any benefit I could think of) Thief- Can use non-consumable held items. Rogue- Can use consumable held items.
ASPECT
Time- You can catch a duplicate of this pokemon to act as a temporary self. They must be released when they reach the level the original one was at when the doomed self was created. (This one kind of doesn't work, I need help with it) Space- Can expend a life from another pokemon to use a Quest Bed, regardless of its Aspect or whether it's been used already or not. Life- Gets an extra life. Breath- Ignores Land Modifiers. Blood- Can catch or attempt to catch one extra pokemon. Doom- Can use one of its lives in place of another pokemon's life. Rage- Dreamself can kill the first viable pokemon encountered on a route to regain a life. Hope- Can give you a second chance if you fail to catch the initial encounter on a route with this pokemon at the head of the party. Mind- Can choose to run from the first initial encounter and get a second chance with this pokemon at the head of the party. Heart- Can use another pokemon's life in place of its life, once. Light- Allows you to make one choice that would normally be handled by RNG. Void- This pokemon has no class or aspect effect.
How exactly pokemon Aspects affect the -lock catching process is detailed below: There is a cap of 3 pokeballs per pokemon. After that, you've failed the encounter. If you fail your first encounter with a Hope pokemon at the front of your party, you get another try at a "first" encounter. If you succeed your first encounter, a Blood pokemon can lead the party to enable a second encounter. Rage pokemon can regain a life by killing the first encounter. This means that the Hope, Mind, and Rage abilities don't stack, but they can make it easier (or impossible) to use the Blood ability. The Bounty Modifier acts as a free Blood effect, and it can be stacked with a Blood pokemon to get up to three new pokemon in a single route.
And finally, there's the extra lives mechanic. Every pokemon starts with 2 lives, or 3 if it's a life pokemon. The final life is known as the dreamself (don't worry about it, it's a name from the comic). Now, the last four Lands in your game have something called Quest Beds in them. Each Quest Bed can be used once to ascend a pokemon to God Tier, under the following conditions: -The Aspect of the pokemon must match the Aspect of the Land -The pokemon must have at least 2 lives left. God-tiering expends one of the pokemon's lives to make the dreamself more powerful.
What's the benefit of using up one of your pokemon's lives? They can now only die in boss battles (Gym leaders, Rocket admins, Pokemon League). Pretty cool.
...And that's it. Pretty confusing, but as a fan of the comic, trying to turn it into a -locke challenge has been a lot of fun. If you don't think so, no harm done. You can just ignore this. I've just started to try it out on Soul Silver. New Bark and Route 29 are known as the Land of Pulse and Wind (looks like that Modifier probably isn't coming into play) and my Cyndaquil is the Bard of Life.

Hah, these Homestucklocke rules are hilariously interesting with how may possibilities there would be if you fleshed out every class and aspect. I'm gonna give some lengthy advice, so I'll just spoiler it all for sake of convenience. I like how Princes are only allowed to use attacking moves, since that totally ties in with their in-comic definition. But I've always interpreted the Knight class as more of a protector class. Maybe Knights could be limited to only having one or two attacking moves while the other two or three are limited to supporting moves? Another thing you could do is go for a Physical/Special split with some classes. For example, you could keep the Maid class as exclusively non-attacking, but move the Sylph to be limited to special attacks. Then something like the Heir could be limited to physical attacks. Something else I noticed is that all aspects you have listed except for Rage have to deal with circumstances outside of battle. I think it'd be nice to have a distinction between the two, like all classes alter things in battle while all aspects alter things outside of battle. Rage has a good effect, but maybe it could be moved to a class like the Mage? Then, to round things off, I think Rogues and Thieves should probably have some kind of limitation in regards to their held item. Maybe Thieves are only allowed to have non-consumable held items while Rogues are only allowed to have consumable held items? Or in general, Thieves and Rogues could the only ones allowed to have a held item at all (unless giving Mages an actual choice scarf/band/whatever would give a more noticeable benefit). Okay, so I guess that settles classes? And we still have all the aspects to go? Wew lad. I think that your definition for Time can work. How about you are allowed to catch one more pokemon of that same species as long as it is of a lower level. After a Time pokemon dies, if you managed to catch one of a lower level, you are allowed to keep using the lower levelled one until it gets to the same level that the previous one was at before it died. I have no idea how this is beneficial, but hey, not every idea has to be perfect right now Heart... Uhh... You have to get the pokemon's happiness up all the way or else it loses two lives instead of one when it dies? That's all I've got. I'm fine with Blood, as long as it only works if you managed to actually catch the first pokemon. Which just made me think of one for Hope. Maybe if you knock out the first pokemon you see, you're allowed to try to catch another. But it only works if you knock out the first seen pokemon. And maybe both Blood and Hope could each work together with Bounty to make for a prosperous Land with lots of viable pokemon, or could even be cancelled by Silence to make them moot for a Land. It's your call on that one, you're the one who made this -locke. Void might work well if it straight up cancels out the pokemon's class, even when beneficial? Rage could be modified so that if the pokemon is down to one life, if it manages to kill x number of pokemon, it regains a life. (x would probably have to be a decently high number) Space and Mind have taken me the longest to think of, so maybe they aren't even all that good. Space pokemon could have the opportunity to become god tier at the same time that another pokemon does, but at the cost of not only one life from itself, but the life of another pokemon of your choosing. As for Mind... Man, I'm disappointed. I'm a Mind player and I am absolutely stumped as to how it could be made to relate to pokemon. You can use Bulbapedia? You can take a look at which pokemon might appear on your route? I have no idea, which is sad, because I thought I was doing pretty alright on making ideas for the other classpects. oh well. Also, do you have names for what the Land would be called for each Land's pokemon type modifier? I figure that Pulse is Blood, but do you have any other ones? Like perhaps Frogs for Space and Thought for Mind? And on one last note, you forgot to indicate which Lands could catch normal type pokemon, lol. ... Welp, I just sat down and spent over an hour thinking of things for a Pokemon: Homestuck mode. The joys of summer. I hope my feedback helps you think of some more ideas.

Thanks for the feedback, man. I'll go ahead and throw my response in a spoiler as well. The physical/special limitations on Heirs and Sylphs is a good idea. Allowing Knights one attacking move and three supports works fine. I think it would be cool if there was a class that worked in the opposite way a Witch does, though that would restrict a lot of pokemon from using any move at all.
Moving the Rage effect to Mage works, since I have no idea what the hell a mage is supposed to do, and the held-item deal works for Rogues and Thieves. Making them the only ones that can use items would make them noticeably unique. I'm not sure if you can use AR to spawn in a choice item but if you can that would give the Mage class a noticable benefit.
The problem with time is it's near impossible to use if you're combining this with a randomizer/wonderlocke. I have no idea to make that work either.
Heart could work in the opposite way Doom does, taking lives from other pokemon, since that aspect has to do with the self. Would enable you to keep one pokemon functionally immortal though, if you just use your new members as life fodder. So probably not.
Void is a good idea. Rage pokemon killing things to regain life is a good idea, but I think having to kill possible captures instead of enemy pokemon would be more balanced.
I lumped Space in with the Blood effect because of its deal with creation. What gave you the god tier idea?
I've come up with an idea for Mind as well. If the Mind pokemon is at the front of the party when you make the initial encounter on a new route, you can choose to run away and treat the next pokemon as your initial encounter. Which leads me to this paragraph hashing out how exactly catching pokemon would work in this.
First of all, I'm going to say there's a cap on how many pokeballs you can use in an encounter. After 3 unsuccessful captures, you've failed the encounter and must faint the pokemon or run away. I've found that while using a randomizer, I've run into many pokemon with high catch rates. I feel that the cap would both help keep you from using up all your pokeballs and lead to more failed encounters, hopefully requiring you to actually use the aspect abilities of your pokemon. Also, encounters with legendaries or pokemon that don't fit that Land's types do not count.
I pulled Pulse as a name for a Blood straight from Karkat's Land. I could provide a list, but I'd have to make up some names because not all of the names from the comic work that well. Also you can consider the Wind modifier scrapped, since that's one of the names for a Breath Land (Alternatively, Zephyr) and it wasn't that good anyways. Any idea for a replacement?
Was going to put normal as a possible type for any lands, but I figured it would lead to people getting stuck with a team of mostly normal pokemon. They would fit in fine with Void, though, since it's pretty much the lack of a type.

I liked the Blood idea due to the "blood brothers" interpretation of the aspect, like the pokemon was desiring another teammate. I really wasn't sure what I was doing with Space, but seeing as all Space players who went god tier were super powerful, I figured that incorporating the god tier mechanic in with them would be at least slightly fitting.
I like your Mind idea because it kinda acts as forming a trinity with Blood and Hope. You can either catch, run away, or even fail in order to have another chance, but only under the right circumstances. So my question is: a battle which starts with a, for example, Hope pokemon in the lead would keep the Hope effect, even if you switch it out?
I figured Pulse was pulled from Karkat's Land, I pulled my Mind/Thought example from Terezi's. Zephyr's good for Breath, and most of the others probably aren't too hard to come up with.
I'm not sure what to replace Wind with, though. You might be fine with those 10 you already have.

Updated the post with our new ideas. It's already much more comprehensive, I like it. Thanks for the suggestions.
The second chance effects deal with the pokemon that leads, but after that it's fair game. The Rage effect should cancel out the others, though. It's powerful, but works at the expense of others. And the first viable pokemon you run into with the Blood pokemon as the lead counts as the second encounter, which gives you some extra control over the situation.
Really, this isn't too much harder than a normal game of pokemon. But so far I feel like it's successful at making me use different pokemon and avoid fainting in much the same way a nuzlocke does, without all the rage. And telling myself that all these rules are a reference to a webcomic I like makes me feel nice, at least.

Just beat Whitney in my Homestucklocke, and on the way to Ecruteak I've finally managed to fill up the roster. Quilava - Thief of Heart - Dreamself - Level 21 - Caught on Earth
Bronzor - Prince of Doom - Waking Self - Level 21 - Caught in the Land of Thoughts and Rain
Anorith - Knight of Hope - Dreamself - Level 20 - Caught in the Land of Dew and Maps
Budew - Sylph of Breath - Dreamself - Level 22 - Caught in the Land of Dew and Maps
Mareep - Heir of Breath (Lol) - Waking Self - Level 13 - Caught in the Land of Tombs and Brains
Elekid - Prince of Blood (Snape?) - Waking Self - Level 12 - Caught in the Land of Tombs and Brains
I also caught a burmy in LODAM, but I had Quilava steal his last life after getting flattened by Whitney's Miltank. Ecruteak is the Land of Angels and Rain, so it's got a Hope bed in it. I'm wondering whether I should allow myself to use Bronzor's Doom powers to give up a life for Anorith to God Tier.
