A bit late on the uptake here. I didn't think we would need a thread for this. Seems like I was wrong!
Day one is over and Microsoft, EA, Sony and Ubisoft have show us what they have to offer. Konami came early with their show, probably to prevent a massive cock up like last year.
I'll get a list of what was announced by each person later. I'm still catching up myself.

Well, I have been looking at some of the stuff on the E3 site. Pretty much it is all this: sequel, sequel, sequel, why, sequel, heh, sequel.

Mario Kart 3DS, Mario 3DS, StarFox 64 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising. They should all come out within the year. I think we knew about those already, though.
AND OH MY GOD THEY'RE CALLING IT THE Wii U. The new one, I mean. Wii 2 is Wii U.
The controller is basically a 3DS without the top screen. Microphone, touchscreen, camera, screen, two circle pads, d-pad, ABXY buttons, etc. It is indeed HD.
It should come out next year.

Or are they just showing the box like when the wii was announced? Pffft WiiU.

HANG ON. SMASH BROS. ANNOUNCED. ON BOTH 3DS AND WIIU.
I don't think they showed the actual console..? Nothing about online yet. They're saying a bunch about the controller, it's hard to remember what they said about gameplay.
Though I think they showed a new Zelda. I don't think it was Skyward Sword..? Though it may just be a tech demo like that one for the GameCube.
EDIT: Okay, so, they're making sure that everyone knows that they are doing "hardcore" games for the WiiU. The list as far as I can remember it is like this: Darksiders II Dirt Aliens: Colonial Marines Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online Metro: Last Light Tekken Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Working Title) I think that was it. :v
The only thing about online so far is an EA guy calling it "deeper".

You know what? Despite the silly name. I'm going to have to buy it. The games sound great! I heard about the "deeper" thing. Deeper and expanded. Well, time to change the Wii 2 thread title.

Okay, more on the controller. You can indeed transfer the game onto the controller's screen and keep on playing from there. Also, it can show a map, for example, while you are playing the actual game. You can also line it up with the TV screen and use it to look around the environment of the game, or use it as a shield, for example, and "catch" things with it.

Maps and stuff: Fine. I really like that idea. Keeping motion controls? On a handheld controller that fits in two hands? Sounds like a quick trip to smashed ornaments land. The PS3 tried to do something like that with the Sixaxis, it was bad. EDIT: Then again I am talking out of my arse right now. I haven't seen what the controller will look like. I'm only going on assumptions.

My thoughts. SSB game on both 3DS and Wii U is definitely great. The Wii U controller.... uh ur, not sure exactly how I feel about it yet. In any case, I am going to buy the Wii U.

You have to actually see it in action. It's witchcraft. The web browser steals the SOUL of the webpage and takes it into the controller.
It also provides interesting situations where one player has a different perspective than the others. Like one of the tech demos involves people using a regular wii remote to control ground tanks. The Wii U controller player, however, plays a plane and is trying to bomb those tanks.
The tanks are viewed on the television screen, and the plane's perspective is being viewed by the Wii U controller.
