I've been playing NHL 95 for SNES lately and figured a thread for any sports game would be cool. What ones do you like most? Do you like to play around with create-a-player? How hard is it? Or is it too easy?
NHL 95 is really old but has a create-a-player feature, which basically allows for up to 20 custom players you can put on any hockey team. Recently I made 18 for all non-legendary Steel-type Pokemon lines except Mawile (team roster fits 9 forwards, 6 defenders and 3 goalies for 18, so 19 wouldn't fit; Mawile is the team's nurse and mascot ). I based the stats of these players, such as Mehdi Metagross, on base stats. For example, Metagross in this game is a hard-shooting, tough-as-nails multi-dimensional centre (reflection of excellent Attack and Defense and balanced other stats).
I put these 18 on Vancouver, like so:
Left Defenders - Magnus Magnezone, Brock Bronzong, Forrest Forretress
Right Defenders - Angus Aggron, Frederick Ferrothorn, Skyler Skarmory
Left Wingers - Emil Empoleon, Edward Excadrill, Boris Bisharp
Centres - Mehdi Metagross, Klive Klinklang (cue KKK jokes >_>), Edric Escavalier
Right Wingers - Lucas Lucario, Scott Scizor, Dewie Durant
Goaltenders - Prab Probopass, Steven Steelix, Barry Bastiodon
How's the team fairing? Well, 21 games into the 1994-1995 season, the Vancouver (Steel) Canucks have 19 wins and 2 losses. Mr. Metagross leads the team with 16 goals.
Feel free to discuss anything about sports games in this thread, hopefully more sane than my current endeavour... But trust me, the Steels WILL win the Stanley Cup. > At least the one awarded on the SNES...
