Welcome to the Kalos region! Now are you a boy? Or are you a girl? All right, Gen 6. Let's see how much information we can shunt into one post. Starters! From left to right: Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie. Rivals/Friends!From left to right: Tierno, Trevor and Shauna. There's also Calem/Serena, depending on what gender you are. The Rest!-Professor Sycamore -A gym leader's older syster; the journalist Alexa. -Team Flare, whose goal is profit. Features!-Over 100 new Pokémon -The all-new Fairy type -Character customisation -PSS, Player Search System; allows connectivity between players -This includes being able to battle another player without going to a Pokémon Centre -Sky battles -Horde battles with wild Pokémon -Pokémon Amie (props for great naming); interaction with Pokémon Nintendogs style -This can improve their battle performance in some unspecified way Release DateInternational: October 12th 2013 I'll bring more as it comes! Original post:I'm sure most of you have heard by now, but there's going to be a big Pokémon announcement on, you guessed it, January 8th! !!!Judging by the fact they're going for an international announcement, this will most likely be a new "main series" game. So place your bets, place your bets! What will it be? As far as I can see, the possibilities are: Ruby/Sapphire remakes, Black/White 3, a Wii U game or gen 6. It really could be anything though. Oh, and chances are I'll change this thread into the discussion thread for whatever the thing is when it's announced.

I think they can't really drag out gen five for any longer. No doubt Nintendo is putting serious pressure on them to make a 3DS Pokémon, and it would be odd for gen five to continue on 3DS. So I reckon... gen six? Ruby/Sapphire remakes would probably be better on 3DS, especially if they looked anything like this- Granted, I think it's a little early for gen five to be ending, but I don't really see a way around it.

I am not a fan of those over-world sprites.

Ah, I quite like them. Regardless, here: Since they're making such a big deal out of this, there's little doubt left in my mind that this'll be gen six. I won't entirely rule out R/S remakes, but it seems a lot less likely at this point. Well, at any rate, less than thirteen hours until we know for sure! Last chance to guess the title/s!

Bet you it'll be a spinoff. Not sure what it'll be like. But that's my guess.

So does this (un)officially make the comic canonical with Pokemon X being released? Going back to game, i've gotta say, i don't really think any of the starters look too appealing, but i'll have to wait till i see their evolutions and whatnot before i make any conclusions

New starters are a Water frog, a grass rodent, and a fire fox. And for the first time since the 2nd generation, I like the fire starter more than the grass starter. 3rd gen, they were tied.
Also this is just a guess, but I think these games will be on the Nintendo 3DS. The official website is using the 3d part of the game a lot. Now I have to save up.

Oh great, I just bought White 2 in November and I haven't even started EV training yet. Luckily it's very easy to do in BW2, but still, I feel like I'm lagging behind.
That said, I don't own a Nintendo 3DS and I doubt I'll buy one just so I could play X and Y. If someone bought one for me for my birthday or something, that'd be cool, but I know that isn't going to happen.
The starters look nice. Finally we'll have a Grass-type starter that's not a reptile, but now there's a second Fire-type fox Pokémon and a THIRD Water-type frog Pokémon. It's not exactly convincing me that the designers haven't run out of real animals to base their ideas on.
X and Y... Femininity and masculinity, perhaps? If that's what the legendaries will represent, I'll laugh my ass off.

Really Gamefreak? You can't do a RSE remake? The graphics look cool and the starters, I'm sure, will grow on everyone. Also, that bird legendary looks like a dark-flying type while that deer looks like dark-water type, both are cool and add some diversity to the uber pool filled with dragons.
But the names of the games are lame. Is this going to be known as the coordinate plane generation? What's the third game gonna be called, Pokemon Z? My god, the Internet will explode with DBZ jokes.
I digress. This is, after all, the 3D rpg that everyone's wanted for so long. And I do like the idea of new pokemon and new attacks forcing those pompous douches over at Smogon to work overtime just as they're still figuring out B2W2. It'll be awesome if the multiplayer has something like Battle, net where you can go into large rooms and select random opponents from all over the world. No need for Smogon at all. I'm also hoping that they add some moves that are very deserving for some pokes, like good physical ice attacks on Kyurem-B and tail glow on Charizard.
Seriously, it's tail is always glowing. Give it the move already!
I'd also like to see every poke that can learn earthquake also be able to learn earth power and vice-versa. It just seems like it should happen. Here's also to hoping farfetch'ds finally get an evolution, though I doubt they will.
New moves I'd like to see: *A priority fire/grass/rock move. *A steel psyshock, but uses attack/sp. def. *More types of stealth rock (you wouldn't be able to have more than one type out at the same time). That way, rapid spinners are needed more. *A ghost hyper beam, just 'cause it'd be cool. *Poison double edge or head smash *A move that guarantees freezing like hypnosis, since freezing is no longer permanent. *A fifth weather move: Acid rain. All types except poison types and pokes with poison heal take 1/16 of max hp damage. If a target is poisoned, damage by acid rain is doubled. Poison types and pokes with poison heal gain 1/16 of max hp.
EDIT: *Sigh* There's Rule 34 of Fennekin already.

Also this is just a guess, but I think these games will be on the Nintendo 3DS. Yes, this was said in the video numerous times. I feel like I'm lagging behind. October is a ways away, so you'll have plenty of time! THIRD Water-type frog Pokémon Seismitoad, Froakie and..? X and Y... Femininity and masculinity, perhaps? If that's what the legendaries will represent, I'll laugh my a ss off. Actually, I'm pretty sure Reshiram and Zekrom were meant to represent those, as part of their yin/yang thing. Really Gamefreak? You can't do a RSE remake? Would you not rather have 3D remakes? But the names of the games are lame. Is this going to be known as the coordinate plane generation? What's the third game gonna be called, Pokemon Z? My god, the Internet will explode with DBZ jokes. The X and Y refer to chromosomes. Here's also to hoping farfetch'ds finally get an evolution, though I doubt they will. Same here, haha! There are a couple of other Pokémon in need of an evolution, but I can't list them from memory. I like quite a lot of these ideas, but acid rain in particular would be good. I'm unsure about double damage to already poisoned Pokémon, but otherwise, it would help the poor Poison types gain some footing in competetive play. EDIT: *Sigh* There's Rule 34 of Fennekin already. Are you really surprised?

Thing is, poison is weak to so much that any edge it gets has to be over powered for it to be useful. EDIT: *Sigh* There's Rule 34 of Fennekin already. Are you really surprised? No. I was just hoping... at least until the evolutions... it's too pedophilic as its first form.

(Warning: Spelling mistakes incoming) Seismitoad, Froakie and..? Politoed. Same here, haha! There are a couple of other Pokémon in need of an evolution, but I can't list them from memory. Dunsparce, Shuckle, Absol, Girafarig, Tropius, etc. Add a Kangaskhan pre-evo, make Bouffalant evolve from Touros, make Alomoloa evolve from Luvdisc. All in all, this looks pretty cool--I especially like the Antelope-ish legendary--but I'm still using an original DS (with a broken hinge), so I doubt I'll have a 3DS in time for the release. Bummer.
