Going to call your Fix as a lie, Dotty. There's no Venusaur that's a dragon type.

All right! The final evolutions of the starters have (finally) been officially revealed in CoroCoro! Just in case someone reeeeaaally wants to save the surprise for when they get the game, I'll only link to the pictures. Chespin's Fennekin's Froakie'sChespin's one is my favourite, which is great, since I've wanted Chespin from the beginning! There have been some Mega-evolution reveals too! Check them out on Serebii, if you want!

What's this? The games have been officially out for a whole day and no one's made a comment about their progress? For shame. I managed to buy my copy of Pokémon Y on Friday and now I have two Badges and I'm about to challenge the third Gym. I also already have a full team. I started with Fennekin which is a Braixen now, and my other team members are Fletchinder, Skiddo, Pancham, Binacle and Floette. I think it's a pretty well-balanced party. So far I've both loved the game AND been disappointed in it a few times. You can probably imagine my reaction when I left the second town and ran into the tall grass, expecting to encounter some awesome new Kalos Pokémon... and then the first Pokémon I encountered was a Pidgey. There were also so many other Gen I-V Pokémon in the beginning that I couldn't believe it. Especially Santalune Forest was basically Viridian Forest 2.0. The same design, the exact same map and mostly the same Pokémon as well, including Pikachu. The game started to pick up after that, though. Even though it's taken me a lot of time to seek out as many Kalos Pokémon as possible on each Route, it's been quite entertaining. The graphics of the game are really pretty and all that jizz. I haven't used Pokémon-Amie or Super Training much yet, but I tried them both out and they were quite cool. The characters of the game are great and I love how every single one of your friends/rivals has a different goal. The rival battles so far haven't been very impressive, though. There haven't been very many of them and every time I won without breaking a sweat. The only one worth mentioning is my recent battle against Serena. She had at least three Pokémon and her first one actually put up a decent fight. Still, I beat her 3-0. I could talk about a lot of other things, but I think I'll wait a little longer. I know the Gyms' types but I still don't know all the Gym Leaders because I want them to be a surprise. I think I'll really join the upcoming game conversations once I've beaten the League. P.S. Believe it or not, but there's a Trainer in the game who makes an "over 9000" joke. Seriously.

I'm on my way to the eighth gym at the moment. My party is: Chesnaught, Talonflame, Hawlucha and Garchomp. All at lv 67.
It's kinda disappointing that I'm always at least ten levels higher than whatever I'm fighting. :v
And yeah, way too many old Pokémon around. It feels like I have only seen a small number of new ones on my journey, and very few that I want on my team.
Speaking of which, if anyone has a female Amaura (ice fossil Pokémon) would they be willing to temporarily trade it to me? I really wanted to use one, but mine has an awful nature, so I'd like to breed to get another one. Seriously, it sucks that I only have a party of four at this point in the game, with bad type variety too. Nevermind, got Ditto.
Also, I'm surprised that even with all the customisation options available, I cannot remove my hat.

I'm currently in the cave that you have to go through before the 3rd gym.
I'm not exactly using just 6 Pokemon, I'm switching between multiple different ones. The Pokemon I'm using at the moment are: Braixen Lucario Honedge Pancham Cumbusken Wartortle Sylveon Amaura
Now for some thoughts. The gym leader battle music is really epic and I love it. I was surprised at how long it took to get to the second gym from the first. Lumiose City had a really annoying camera that just doesn't work right. I'm noticing a lot of similarities with the Kanto region in this game. GEN 1 REMAKE REMAKE CONFIRMED. I don't know any of the gym types or trainers because I really want those to be a surprise.
P.S. Water Pulse in 3D is trippy as heck.
P.S.S. WONDERTRADE WONDERS
So, as those of you who know about wondertrade, it can either end magically or horribly. I just had both.
So, I traded over a Mime Jr and the person was giving me a Graveler. I was thinking "If this thing has an Everstone, I will cry" it did, I cried. Skip up to a few more trades and I receive a Haunter this time. By this point I can just tell it has an Everstone. AND IT DIDN'T. So, I got a level 39 Gengar (about 10 higher than anything I have) and all I sent him was a Zubat I just got in a Wondertrade. He then immediately asks to trade, probably wanting it back.

I think it says a lot about the difficulty level of this game that I trained a lv 1 Amaura to a lv 60 Aurorus over the course of Victory Road with very little effort. It's kind of... bleh, you know?
Anyway, my winning team was: Conkeror the Chesnaught Lv 72 Hepburn the Talonflame Lv 72 Marisol the Hawlucha Lv 72 Alouette the Garchomp Lv 73 Eckhart the Aurorus Lv 62
The fact that Eckhart took out half of the Champion's team speaks volumes about the strength of Kalos trainers on the whole. And it left a bad taste in my mouth to have one party slot empty, but nothing that interested me came up in time.

You already beat the Champion, Dotty? Dude, you are a machine. At least I sleep every now and then. I just beat Team Flare. It was kinda ridiculous that I had to battle their Boss three times in such a short time period, but I'm not complaining. All Exp is good Exp. I absolutely love how the Exp. Share works in this Gen. I also love Super Training, it may take some time but it's friggin' awesome. Punching those Bags to gain EV points instead of buying Vitamins saves me a fu ckload of money. I was a little disappointed in Yveltal, to be honest. My Talonflame only had to use Flare Blitz three times (it used Oblivion Wing to heal itself at one point) and then it was weak enough for me to catch it in a single Dusk Ball. Wow. Then again, it proved itself to be a beast in the last battle against Lysandre. I swept three of his first Pokémon with Yveltal without having to use any other form of recovery than Oblivion Wing and even though it finally lost to Mega Gyarados, it did enough damage for my Delphox to finish it off with a single Flamethrower. I'm telling you, there's NOTHING more satisfying than defeating a Water/Dark-type Mega Pokémon with a Fire/Psychic-type. Seriously, it was beautiful. Here's my current team: Oili the Delphox, level 59 Kari the Talonflame, level 56 Raimo the Gogoat, level 56 Mikko the Pangoro, level 56 Riitta the Barbaracle, level 56 Eeva the Florges, level 56 Again, love the Exp. Share. My opponents all fall down before my overleveled monsters.

Yeah. My Pokemon aren't really all that over leveled because I'm using like 9 and I also don't have the EXP Share on all the time.

I turn the Share On for the most part, but when I am training a new member, I turn it off. My team is Greninja, Pangoro, Meowstic (f), Clawitzer, MegaAerodactyl, and Mawile. Pokemon that I rotate: Florges, Doublade, Charizard, and Lucario. I still need to get the Torchic.
I only have 6 badges. I am slowly playing the game, but I am enjoying it. Pokemon Amie is a lot of fun.

You can reset EVs. I repeat: You can reset EVs.
At last, at long last, your main game party Pokémon can actually become a force for the competetive battling scene! I'm ecstatic, frankly!

How do you reset EVs. I need to know this. On the Super Training section of the touch screen, make your Pokémon hit the traing bag a load of times (it can be the standard bag that doesn't do anything). You should start getting random training bags of varying quality. Eventually, you'll come across a plain white training bag, called a Reset bag. Make your Pokémon train with it and the EVs are reset. For this method it's important to note that I don't think you can receive more random training bags once your training bag sidebar is full, so make sure you regularly toss out the pointless/bad ones. The other method I haven't tried. Apparently you can get two new berries through mutation in your berry field and when you take one to the Juice Shoppe, you can get a Perilous Soup, which also resets EVs.
