Most people don't use grass types because of RBY. Back then your team was designed to take out the other team's Mewtwo first and, since most grass types in RBY were also poison, no one really used them.

True enough I suppose. I always used Jolteon to weaken Mewtwo to the point where a different pokemon could defeat it. I suppose with the upgrades though even the good old Pin Missile won't be enough any more. I would think more people might be interested in Sceptile though, a pure grass type that you can breed Dragonbreath and Crunch into, not to mention you can teach hin Dragon Claw if you like and I'm sure he can learn Earthquake at the very least, if not some kind of rock type attack.

I have a good one I used to use in Gold/Silver...don't know if it works anymore though. Houndoom Sunny Day + Solarbeam That startled the heck out of me the first time the Stadium 2 people pulled it out, but it's still a good tactic if you like to use Houndour or Houndoom. Houndoom Moveset- Sunny Day, Solar beam, Falmethrower Last move is up to you, it should be either Crunch, or Pursuit (great for catching people on the switch, but only if you're advanced and can predict switches wel..)

In GS I would have gone with crunch but with abilities now like flame body and static, I'd go w/shadow ball. Also, I'd change flamethrower to fire blast.

Houndoom can't effectively use physical attacks, and to maximize damage with that you'd have to mix Evs, which is a real pain! And flamethrower works here thanks to sunny day. Fire Blast doesn't have enough pp or accuracy to count on in battle often like houndoom needs.

I don't use grass types because they are weak to too many things, and that's just being a grass type only. That, and everything they are strong against is already covered by other pokémon on my team. Water? That's what my electric is for. Ground? Water. Rock? Ground and water. No need wasting a spot for a grass pokémon.
