You mean when the boat returns, you use surf to go around it and you find mew sitten on a dock?

No, the trick is: Get Cut some other way (gameshark or trading) so you don't have to heal the captain. The ship never leaves and you come back after you got surf. You then surf to the right and you see a truck and, according to rumors, if you do something to the truck mew attacks and you can catch him.

And there was one Mew glitch that actually did work, too. Are you talking about the S.S. Anne Truck? I could never get that to work ... No. Not that stupid truck thing. If I can find the link to it again, I'll post it. But as I recall, it goes like this: First, there are two trainers you had to not fight during the course of the game in order for this to work. Once you get Fly, go to Route 8. When you walk out of the Underground Path entrance and go down one step, a trainer should notice you and attempt to battle. You have to hit Start quick enough to get the menu up after he's noticed you. Then Fly to Cerulean City. You should now be denied access to the start menu. Go up past Nugget Bridge and get into a battle with a Youngster who has a Slowpoke. After you stomp him flat, you can access your menu again, so fly to Lavender Town. Go out to Route 8 again through the little fence on the left side of the town, and your start menu should open by itself. Close it, and you will enter a battle with a Level 7 Mew, which you can catch. It does work, but if you've completed the game, you have to start over, because you need those two trainers to notice you. EDIT: Found the link. tbp.berkeley.edu/~jdonald/pokemon/mewglitch.htmlThis does work, too. I did it myself.

My friend actually discovered that the trick also works in yellow version as well, The only difference is that instead of mew it will be a different completely random pokemon. Like I said before he has a level 7 Articuno because of it.

Thanks for the exalts, guys! ;D My friend actually discovered that the trick also works in yellow version as well, The only difference is that instead of mew it will be a different completely random pokemon. Like I said before he has a level 7 Articuno because of it. Hmm... Probably has something to do with all that nerdy hexadecimal code stuff. I bet if you keep trying the trick with different trainers, you can find one that produces Mew.
