I wanna add some random encounters and a boss battle so it may take a few days, but yeah, there will be a demo soon. The battle system is kinda like this. Well...if you've played Jade Cocoon 1, it's basically that, but if you haven't...
At the start of every battle, your trainer stands against a foe. The trainer can use an attack well...the only attack the trainer has is throwing a pester ball.(Pokemon Snap) Or, the trainer can call out a Pokemon to do battle for him. The trainer can also use items and run away. Pokemon are allowed to do 4 things, Withdraw, Defend, Fight, and activate a hold item. If the Pokemon faints, control will be switched back to the trainer. The trainer can once again, do those things. The only person who gets exp is the one who kills the enemy. So you have to be sure you get the person or pokemon you want to deal the final blow.

It sounds like a nice system, I look forward to using it. The exp bit might be a bit of a pain in the butt though

I think whoever kills the Pokemon gets the experience, even if the trainer killed it

If the Pokemon don't get exp, then they get owned later in the game. It's like not training with Barret, Yuffie, and Red in FF 7 and getting owned when the party splits up. Your trainer's Max HP will always be a lot lower than your Pokemon. You pretty much treat your Pokemon as shields...xD.

I'd probably end up in a battle with a weedle as a shield or something...

Oh brett, I still have 3 slots open, if you wanna be in the rpg, go back to the first couple of posts and supply me with the info I need. You probably won't be in the next demo though.
