If you're getting HG or SS then give us what starter and nickname you'll choose.
for me it'd be Cyndaquil and I'll name it Hinoarashi.

Cydnaquil named Salamander. Sure it's not original, but salamanders are the name of the Elemental Spirit of fire.

I won't get HG/SS, but I might breed a couple of Chimchar in Platinum and name them Takashi and Takeshi. Or if they're female, Tamiko and Tomoko. My four Infernape are called Taiki, Tajiri, Takeda and Takara.

Just for reference, my nicknames on the first play of Emerald:
Leap the Sceptile Dance the Ludicolo Emotion the Gardevoir Swift the Swellow Hump the Camerupt Helmet the Aggron
Dance is my personal favourite.
I also have an Ampharos named Hans, because I saw a movie once with a German shepherd (human, not canine) named Hans tending to his sheep. If he was female I would have named him/her Heidi.

Since Camerupt was male I was thinking of naming him Humphrey, but that was too long. Hump is nice and fitting and thus works even if common.
My all-time favourite for one of my own Pokemon is Helio the Solrock. Solrock are genderless, but Helio just sounds worldly and fiery, which fits since my Solrock is a Rock Sliding SunnyBeamer.

My humps, my humps, my humps my humps my lovely lady lumps.
In PMD:EOS all my pokemon nicknames consist of adding as many 'a's as I can fit. (eg Fearowaaaaa)

In HG/SS I would choose Cyndaquil OR Totodile. Cyndaquil: Wolverine, Logan (from the X-Men) Totodile: Aquados, NovaStrike Finally, computer is working once again. Any good suggestions for a male Aggron? I named my Honchkrow Corvus. And I bred my Sceptile from Emerald and named the baby Treecko, Yoshi. That nickname really suits a Treecko. I have now EV trained a total of 34 Pokemon. I'm proud of all of them and of course I use all of them in competitions with me and my friends.

Any good suggestions for a male Aggron? How about Armand? It is a French male name, and sounds like "Armour", fitting since Aggron is the "Iron Armour" Pokemon.
