Nah, remember The Emerald game, there was an old lady who had a door filled upp by plants so you couldn't get in, My theory is she may have stolen everyones beds, bathtubs, and toilets. But that doesn't tell us where they go to the bathroom. My theory is diapers. Lots and lots of diapers.

It is kinda funny... But because I'm serious, I still support the more sensible underground theory.

Why did they have to change the Contests? Super Contests are quite ridiculous.
Why are Machop so easy to beat, if they're strong enough to hurl a hundred adult humans and lift sumo wrestlers with just one finger?

Heres not a question but an answer to maybe alot of things. The Pokemon world makes use of a system called "meritocracy" or if you prefer, from tvtropes "Authority equals *** kicking/*** kicking equals authority. This is why Trainers are called upon to assist in local distrubances and such, on their journey to be champs, they also must shoulder responsibilities making them a sort of samritan/cop/national guard.
This goes all the way up the chain, i.e. Trainer, Gym Leader, Elite 4, Champ, with each level bein more and moreresponsible for handling bigger events/disasters happening in their respective regions. Proof of this is that, starting from Johto, the Champ makes frequent appearances helping the trainer along and dealing with whatever Team is the current antagonist. Hence, the Pokemon Leaugue IS the government of any particular region, with Gym Leaders functioning along the lines of town mayors.
Gots a fanfic where I explore this concept more in depth...but I haven't actually written it yet, still gellin suff together.

Machop, uhhhhh, ummmmm, if there level 5 or something?
Look, lifting up boulders and humans is different from pokemon battles.

a Machops pokedex entry says that it can lift boulders and stuff, just because it can win a weight lifting contest doesn't mean it knows how to fight there for they are weak

I'm a little more worried on how Machop obtains a speedo and a wrestling belt as it evolves into Machoke...
