The Flannery battle is coming up soon/eventually. I recall something about her inheriting the gym from her gramps, who I suspected might have been Blaine. Given that Brendan has some intel on the Kanto/Johto region, I thought that maybe some Blaine-based paranoia prior to the gym batle would be acceptable (Mewtwophobia maybe?).

1. Blaine is not Flannery's grandfather. Her grandfather is a man called Mr. Moore.
2. What the hell are you talking about? Mewtwophobia? I don't think Brendan knows anything about Mewtwo. He's only afraid of Pikachu.

He was attacked by a herd of Pikachu when he was a kid, if I've understood correctly. So it's no wonder he's afraid of them.

I never heard of the pikachu herd thingy either, unless it came from the comic. I never heard of the Mr. Moore thingy either, always thought that it would be interesting IF BLaine turned out to be the grandpa.
I miss my Mewtwo.

The Pikachu incident hasn't been properly explained in the comic, but there have been many hints about it.
And I know that Flannery's grandfather is called Mr. Moore, because he has appeared in the anime. He has a Typhlosion and a Wingull and he was the referee in Ash's Lavaridge Gym battle.
