*sighs* You'll never want to use Blizzard. Ever. Unless you're using it with Serene Grace. Blizzard's horrible accuracy of 70% will just mess you up, not to mention that it is half power. You're basically hitting a Pokemon with a Base 60 move with 70% Accuracy. The only good is the 30% chance of freezing, which, with all the Groudon teams you'll meet during this thing (participated and nearly won) isn't going to happen.
Here are the pairs you have to watch out for: Groudon + Shiftry Groudon + Exeggutor Kyogre + Kingdra
Here are the Pokemon that will be generally paired with them. Mewtwo Rayquaza Zapdos Lati@s Blissey Dusclops Snorlax Flygon Salamence Gyarados
You'll find the odd Metagross and Tyranitar, but I'll give you this warning. Don't use Charizard. It's weak to everything under the sun. If you don't put protect on your Pokemon, these guys are going to tear you apart.

Ok, I don't know what move you are thinking of, but blizzard has 120 base damage. Look stuff up before you criticize.
And the reason to use charizard with groudon is that there movesets are supposed to consist of as many multiple target moves as possible. (EQ, Eruption, Rock Slide, Heat Wave, ect...) And charizard is the only pokemon that I am aware of that can use heat wave, is a fire type, and isn't harmed by EQ, which is a groudon's best move.
Not only that, a charizard is good for his team since one of his pairs is a metagross and a tyranitar. If some one sees that, they may switch to a pokemon that can use EQ. This will not only give Razek a chance to hurt it on the switch, but switch one out to charizard and the other to zapdos and their EQ gets made worthless.

I am sticking with the team I have now I am running out of time and I still need to finish training and get 48 points to teach groudon rockslide by getting points in the pike because it is the easiest one to get points. plus Training is almost finished

Whoops. Anyways, I wish I could post to this without bumping, but I can't. When you use a move that hits two opponents, the attack is divided by 2. Hitting an opponent with Blizzard will do less to each opponent than hitting each one with an Aurora Beam. Good luck on your team.

It's not misinformation. It's written into the game mechanics. Try it if you'd like. You'll notice that attacks like Surf won't do as much damage as like powered attacks such as Ice Beam. Of course, that is not considering STAB which won't make that much of a difference.
EDIT: But it won't make a difference. A Starmie, with Thunder or Thunderbolt, won't be able to do much to Kyogre anyways. Even with the Super Effective attack, Thunder will do AT THE MOST 53%, and that's assuming Starmie has absolutely maximum Special Attack (328) and Kyogre has no HP or Special Defense EVs. I'm not taking IVs into consideration, but if I did, it still wouldn't top 65% at the most. Paramount to that, Kyogre could EASILY OHKO Starmie with its own Thunder from its maximum special attack (438), and can even do it when Starmie has maximum HP and Special Defense EVs. Your Starmie would theorectically need 252 HP EVs and 116 Special Defense EVs to even have a SLIVER of a chance at survival. In fact, ANY Pokemon with a special attack over 300 can OHKO a no HP/SDef EV Starmie with Thunder.

Either way, the power of an attack is not split when both pokemon are hit. No guide that I have read, either online or in print, has ever said that that happens.

I think it'd be hilarious if everyone got to the event and there was nothing there except a big sign that said,
"APRIL FOOLS, there's no tournament."

I hope you did well, those who fought. Either way, the power of an attack is not split when both pokemon are hit. No guide that I have read, either online or in print, has ever said that that happens. You're welcome to try it out for yourself. On the Route west of Mauville City are a pair of twins whom you can fight against repeatedly. Or you can find the reporters. Bring a Pokmon approximately level 40 or around the level of their Pokemon. I suggest something that knows either Surf or Blizzard. Use it against them. Then go to Victory Road and fight either a Hariyama or a Loudred, level 40 as well. You'll notice that your Pokemon does much more damage against the wild Pokemon, and that's not because they're wild. There are many things in the game that most guides aren't detailed enough to talk about. For example, the fact that Explosion halfs your opponent(s)' defense before calculating damage, the fact that Reversal/Flail's base power is 200 whenever the opponent reaches 1-3 HP, and the fact that Focus Punch has a higher priority than Revenge are never ever stated. You probably won't find a guide that lists attack priority. The books would have to be twice as thick in order to tell you everything. EDIT: Why do I always spell 'thick' as 'think'. Stupid keystrokes.

Yeah, as a matter of fact double-damage attacks lose damage when they attack two people at once.... it is true. If you play pokemon collesseum, every battle is a double battle, and after comparing the damage of surf against one as opposed to do, it does a lot more da,age against one opponent.

Results of tourney:....
>_< It was over packed So many people showed up there I even got there early and I was not able to get a spot for battling The people offered me to stay to see if anyone would drop out but I was not going to waste my time just standing around watching others having fun
What did I learn from this experience. Camp out the night before to get a good spot.

*blinks* So you didn't even stay to watch the fight? Wow, you missed out of meeting up with other Pokemon fans. The finals are very exciting; its a shame you missed out on that experience. I even made friends from the tournament here ^^;

I was to pissed off from not getting a spot to try and make friends If I tried, I would have choke slammed one them by instinct
But I already have lots of friends who like to play pokemon. So I don't need to worry about that, plenty of ginny pigs
