The final recap:
"Flannery is a timid 16 year old girl, born in Rustboro City. She has just recently been made gym leader, and likes cooking.
Flannery first appears atop her hot spring ledge in Pokémon-X #907. After Brendan has his Pokémon healed following his defeating of the Lavaridge Gym's trainers, Flannery steps down off her ledge to save him the exertion of the maze a second time. Her introduction in #926 is one of nervousness.
She uses four Pokémon in the battle, leading with a Slugma. She is put off by caffeinated Brendan's hyperness. Flannery's Slugma defeats Brendan's Nosepass after a long battle, but then faints to his Golbat, but not before making it drowsy with Yawn. Flannery then sends out a Numel; Golbat falls asleep shortly afterward. It wakes up, but falls to repeated Embers from Numel. Brendan then calls on Rocky, his shiny Mightyena, to avenge Golbat. Rocky succeeds in finishing off Numel, and is then confronted by Flannery's Camerupt. After taking a beating, a still-conscious Rocky is recalled by Brendan, who replaces him with Combusken. Camerupt then defeats Combusken after taking a ton of Sand-Attacks, which irritate Flannery and made her prone to erupting. Brendan brings out Makit, his Hariyama, who gets floored by a couple of powerful attacks but somehow gets up and takes down Camerupt with a Tackle. The fact her camel was taking down by such a weak attack further infuriates Flannery, whose face turns as red as the flame on her black t-shirt. She sends out her last and most powerful Pokémon, Torkoal, who roasts Makit with an Overheat. Brendan replies with his own Torkoal, who has a hostile past with Flannery's tortoise. A long struggle between the two Pokémon results in a victory for Brendan's Torkoal, who avenges his long-dead family, supposedly brought to their demise by Flannery's Torkoal, by relying on residual damage from poison and Fire Spin. Brendan is victorious and obtains his fourth badge, the Heat Badge."
