All right, if for some reason you suspect something as of late, some of my ideas are from a forum called VGLan. Why do I say this? It's to ensure that I give credit in case somebody attacks me and accuses me of plagiarising internet ideas. Having mentioned that quick bit, let's proceed with the suggestion, shall we?
First off, the forum awards "contest" was a great success, in my opinion. And looking over the nominations, as well as winners, something occurred to me. We only have a timeline that details members vaguely. In no way will members who join this year or even in 2011 have the chance to know the members who really mattered at the time. That made me think of something... what if we hosted another round of nominations for 6 or so Pokémon-X Legends? So what is a Pokémon-X Legend?
Essentially, a Pokémon-X Legend is a member whose presence made significant contribution to the forum, even more than it would take to be included on the Pokémon-X Timeline. They were respected and everybody at the time didn't ask "who is _____?" Everybody knew them, even the members who joined two days ago knew that person because of their reputation on the boards. They were an internet celebrity on Pokémon-X standards. The 6 Pokémon-X Legends would form a small group and well-respected amongst the forum past, present, and future. It's pretty much the highest rung on the social ladder. As I am somebody who loves history (American, forum, organizational group, etc), I cannot stand people trashing or questioning veterans who are no longer active simply because they heard one bad thing about that person and decide he was hated or uncool, when, in reality, the absent member was viewed as A GOD on the forums. That is part of the reason of this suggestion - to ensure at least six members since the beginning of the forum are memorialised and immortalised for the years to come, to place emphasis on their influence and making the newbs think "wow, that guy was really kickass, wasn't he?"
The nominations would be simple. Any forum member is free to nominate ANYBODY they feel is extremely important to remember five years from now. The nominations can even be themselves and there is no limit as to the number of people you choose for nominating consideration. After a week or so, we will tally the votes and come up with at least six members to induct in the Pokémon-X Legends group. If possible, we could even present them with pips. So what do you guys think about this?
