This is the thread for all things related to Team Fortress 2! (or TF2 for short) If you've never heard of/played the game before, I advise you to do so. It's free if you have a Steam account(which is also free). Personally, it's the only First-Person Shooter that I've ever gotten into, and it's amazingly fun. In this thread you can post who your favorite class is, what your Steam name is, and maybe you can even set up a server or ask if anyone would like to join you.
My favorite class is Pyro. I really get a thrill out of turning a corner and lighting everyone on fire. I'm kind of sadistic that way.

My steam is: Sonicteej My favorite class........The class I've survived longest in: soldier...Class with highest kill streak: Pyro...Class with most kills total: Spy.. I personally don't like it too much, but that's probably because I suck at it. Also, the Cow Manger is so B.S

I downloaded it, mainly because it's one of the few games I have enough RAM for (due to it being released quite a while ago.)
But my video card isn't up to snuff and all the map textures come out as rainbow "this-didn't-load-properly" walls. And it's laggy as hell. So yeah.

Even lowering the game's video settings to the minimum? I'm on an integrated video card and TF2 runs just fine on medium settings.
Anyway, my steam ID is DemonicChocobo. I primarily play No Skill Class 1(Pyro), as well as No Skill Class 2(Demoknight).

TF2 went F2P just as I went to America. Since I don't have a mouse I never really played it. I did download it though and will be playing in a week or so. I'll probably try and be a spy. Failing that, a scout.
Looking forward to seeing me run around with nothing while everyone else is blinged to the max.

Steam said something weird about how it can't even recognize my video card, so I have no idea how I could get it to work short of replacing it. And whenever I try to change the settings it crashes. My computer is a piece of crap

Especially if you've never played TF2 before. Being a good Spy means being a good actor. You need to understand how each class moves around as well as common routes that are taken to avoid rousing suspicion. And unless you're amazing at escaping, getting caught by the opponent pretty much means you die and you're not contributing anything of value to the team. Basically, a good spy can severely cripple the enemy team, but a bad spy is just taking up space. Ultimately, if you start with Spy, you're going to find you're dying without killing a single enemy and just end up frustrated.

Thanks for the advice. I'll roll with scout for a bit until I get the hang of the game.
I should probably post my steam name: Cabinet. (If you haven't already guessed)

My computer is a piece of crap My Steam doesn't recognize my Video Card either, so I just sent it in and hit "Never show again". It's always worked for me, so I'm not sure how to help. You could see if running it in a window helps at all. If not for playing, then maybe for editing settings.

How old is your computer anyway? My laptop is coming in on two years old now and it can handle most games that came before 2006. It shouldn't be too hard on the computer if it is fairly new.

I downloaded it when it came out F2P. gschoonmaker3 is the name, sniper is my game. When I played COD MW2 I always sniped, and it kinda carried over into this. I love it when people rage quit because of me >

Does he really need one? It's not breaking news and anyone who has steam will know about this deal.

Odd. If you are even remotely connected to PC gaming you'll know about steam. It's a place where you can download games and talk to friends. It, along with Games For Windows Live are (More or less) the PSN/XBLIVE of online gaming. You can download it here. It's free and doesn't take too long to download.
