I was originally going to mention my love of video game music in the happiness thread, but people yelled and I cried and... Anyway, sharing is caring so we should all share our favorite video game music. Personally, anything by Daisuke Ishiwatari is my favorite. He did the music for Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. My two favorites would be this and this

Hmm... I don't have any specific tastes, usually listen to whatever fits my mood or what I got on my mind at the time. Generally though, I tend to listen to the Megaman and SRW tracks (remixed and original) when I'm feeling or want to feel upbeat/energetic, Shin Megami Tensei tracks when introspective or not looking for hot-blooded energy, Secret/Sword/etc. of Mana tracks when I'm feeling melancholy, subdued, or clam, or Armored Core tracks for a bit of fun/techno/nostalgia/etc. Also on tend to like tracks either for ice themed places or are ice themed... calm, peaceful, solemn, silent, pristine, lonely, just something about the feelings they generally evoke/give off that draws my attention. (too lazy to include an example since I already gave one with the -of-Mana example )

I can (and have) sit for hours listening to the SSB soundtrack. The Pokemon route themes (especially 219), Midna's lament and the LoZ overworld, Legendary Air Ride, Power Hungry Fool, Tetris themes A and B... it's great. I also find Love Grows from Final Fantasy to be incredibly relaxing. And my friend (who's a video game music nerd) has pointed out to me some very good pieces from Kingdom Hearts, none of which I can recall the names of.

I love the all of the Metal Gear Solid soundtracks. They are beautiful to listen to. MGS2 has my favourite soundtrack out of the whole series though. It has some brilliant pieces like Metal May Cry and the main theme. I love the Metal Gear 3 soundtrack for the shear amount of laid back and songs that seem to capture the sound of music from the 60'sRed Dead Redemption has some pretty good songs in it. They work best in game though. I won't link them right now. I have the Arkham City soundtrack sitting on my computer but I haven't bothered to listen to it. I don't think it's going to be great from looking at the track list. It seems to be songs that are just lumped together to pander to 12-14 year olds. The actual in-game score is brilliant and I will be disappointed if they aren't on what I have.

The world ends with you has an amazing soundtrack..
Also, I have the RBY 8 bit music on my ipod... that's normal, right?
Other game soundtracks I have: Super Smash Bros (mostly because they have a wide variety of games), Legend of Zelda OoT and a variety of anime OSTs

Persona 4 and 3 have some good songs and tracks. I also like some of the Sonic the Hedgehog tracks.
And those are the soundtracks I can think off of my head.

The Sonic CD soundtrack is really good. It's up on iTunes too, if anyone wants to splash out the money for it.
