So there will be other outfits. That make the character customization somewhat better. Also, is it just me or does the region look like a star? HOLY crap! I was not expected the picture to take up that much space.

So the fairy type is a real thing. It is super effective against dragons and so far the only Pokemon are Sylveon, Gardevoir, Jigglypuff and Marill. You can also interact with your Pokemon in a feature called Pokemon-amie. The release date is October 12. (the day before my b-day)
There are also two new Pokemon, Vivilion and Noivern. Vivilion looks like a new moth who is Bug/Flying and Noivern looks like a big bat with the biggest turdo boosters on his head who is the first Pokemon to ever have Flying as its flying type, it's a Flying/Dragon. Vivilion is said to evolve from a Pokemon called Spewpa.

Riding pokemon appears to be a new form of HMs. Riding a Rhyhorn helps you get through rocky paths, Gogoat will probably help travel through grassy fields. Also, if you don't have one in your team, you can rent one. I like this mechanic. Also Noivern, the Dragon with Speakers on its head, is probably going to be a party member for me. Also, there is a lot of fire-type pokemon, the starter, the bird, and a new lion cub.
Besides the new type addition, which I like, the game also has Horde encounters: 5 vs 1 wild battles. You're walking through the grass and suddenly 5 Pokemon are battling your Starter....they can be the same or different types. I like this mechanic.

I'm not feeling the new type.
I mean, I get that they needed something new to keep dragons in check, but what's the logic behind it? Fairies vs. dragons and fairies win? Couldn't it be magic type? It'd have the same benefit while making sense.

I think the reasoning behind Fairy being strong against Dragon is that the new type is based off of folklore; Fairy, elf, giants, etc. And in most folklore, the hero fights a dragon.

I always figured that was the reason steel should be SE against dragons. Knights vs. dragons and all. In truth, I just think the name is weak. They could have easily gone with magic type instead.
By the way, are ice, poison, and normal going to be SE against fairy types? Because is we're talking fairy tales, the enemy is cold, bitter reality.

Normal being SE on anything is just silly and you know that Also, if I remember correctly, most knights who attempted to take down dragons did not find the greatest success. I think bringing in a new type would be the best way to check the dragons short of giving them an arbitrary Psychic or Ghost weakness, which would be kinda weird but not the worst. Also, this game is 3DS only, right? Looks like I'll be waiting a while, again. Looking forward to the PS4 too much >.>

Some people are thinking Litleo evolves into a Manticore. My new thought is that they evolve into these.

Updated the OP. So, wanna play the guess-the-gym-type game? That's Clemont on the left and Grant on the right. (It's interesting to note that both of their names reference fruits.) Clemont will probably be Electric or Steel, seems pretty clear. Grant, on the other hand, is a bit more up in the air. I'm leaning towards Rock (kinda rock-ish hair? Rock climber) or Fairy (similar hair decorations to Xerneas' antlers). In other news, there was a teaser on Game Freak's website that said "the well known game, played all around the world, is about to be reborn thanks to a surprising collaboration", alongside this silhouette. Since Game Freak don't have a "well-known game" other than Pokémon, it's probably a safe bet that it's a Poké-collab. You can see that the silhouette is pretty much a big-headed horse and the url includes the word "Soritiba", which is a breed of horse. Currently, the most prevalent theory is Harvest Moon x Pokémon, I think. Obviously this isn't X/Y related, but I don't quite think it warrants a new topic just yet. Will move if asked.
