-Liking the starter forms.
-'Bout time we got character customization.
-This mega mewtwo form is a lot better, though the ability is lame.
-That fossil dinosaur looks awesome. No reason to get the other one.
-Wish steel would keep its dark and ghost resistances.
-Mega garchomp with sand force... Thanks, Game Freak, because if Garchomp had one problem, it was its attack stat. You had to waste so many turns setting up that you barely got a shot in. Giving it an evolution plus an ability to make it hit harder will definitely make it more balanced.

-'Bout time we got character customization. Yeah, it's going to be sweet. I'm starting to doubt my decision to play as Calem. -Mega garchomp with sand force... Thanks, Game Freak, because if Garchomp had one problem, it was its attack stat. You had to waste so many turns setting up that you barely got a shot in. Giving it an evolution plus an ability to make it hit harder will definitely make it more balanced. I hear you, they screwed up big time. The only good thing about this new monster is that apparently it will be slower than a regular Garchomp. Oh, and there's a new trailer out that has the English names of the new Pokémon: Looks like I was right, Braixen does use that stick as a wand! It's awesome. There's not a chance in hell its final form will be Fire/Fighting now. Bring on the Fire/Psychic witch-fox, bitches! Also, Pyroar has a female form. Yes! We also learned some other new stuff:

OHMYGODTHATBRONTOSAURUSPOKEMONISADOOOOOOORABLE (never mind that the brontosaurus never actually existed) and its ability is epic. Boosted-strength Ice-type return, anyone? (That'd be like, what, 110-120 power with 100% accuracy?) And probably with high defensive stats, to boot? Add that in with the Fairy type and this generation is basically a giant Dragon nerf.
I see we're going down the road of having a stupid-looking water starter have the coolest evolution again (as opposed to the inverse, which we had back in Gen 3), and I'm perfectly fine with that. Braixen and Quilladin look exceptionally weird, though. And no fire/psychic fox will be able to replace Ninetales D:<
Honestly, Sand Force is essentially a nerf on Garchomp. As already stated, it doesn't need a higher attack. Either of the other sand-based abilities--one of which regular Garchomp already has available to it--are much better suited, with the extra tick of evasion from Sand Veil being a potential battle-changer (I've been on the wrong end of a luck dodge so many times it's not funny) and Sand Rush just being downright broken.
And... did Steel really need to get nerfed? Steel, of all types? And taking away its dark resistance makes me fear for dark approaching OP levels.
(Do I even need to mention the logic behind Fairy's weaknesses? Steel and Poison still aren't going to be useful enough types to regularly carry save for STAB Pokemon.)

I think they needed to give fairy type unusual weaknesses otherwise dragons would just fit it well into their moveset.

I agree, Dragon-types are getting raped in this Gen no matter how many Mega Evolutions they'll end up giving those pesky pseudo-legendaries. Yes, Amaura is cute and has a great ability, but personally I think I'll pick Tyrunt just because it's a goddamn Tyrannosaurus. I see we're going down the road of having a stupid-looking water starter have the coolest evolution again (as opposed to the inverse, which we had back in Gen 3), and I'm perfectly fine with that. Braixen and Quilladin look exceptionally weird, though. And no fire/psychic fox will be able to replace Ninetales D:< I disagree with all this, but I won't start an argument. I'll just say that I never thought Froakie looked stupid in the first place. And... did Steel really need to get nerfed? Steel, of all types? And taking away its dark resistance makes me fear for dark approaching OP levels. Nah, I doubt Dark will be OP now that it even has one more weakness. I do agree on Steel, though - pretty much the only good thing about it was its many resistances, but now it lost two of those.

Aye, was a bit miffed about the loss of some of Steel's resistances. But damn, been long time since I actually wanted-wanted a fossil pokemon in my team. Definitely grabbin' that sail fossil, heh. Also if I read the effectiveness list right, with Fairies introduced, Sableye and Spiritomb will no longer be without weaknesses.

Charizard has gotten more love; move over Mewtwo, you're not the only one with options. Charizard has another Mega form. This form is a more Physical Attacker, has the ability Tough Claw that raises the power of moves that land a direct hit, and looks like the shiny Charizard. Oh, and it's Fire/Dragon.

Getting a bit sick of Charizard recently. :\ I used to think people were exaggerating when they talked about how zealously over-hyped Charizard is, but it turns out I just hadn't seen that portion of the fanbase.
Also, important message for everyone: out of consideration for people who don't want to see leaked information, please don't post anything that hasn't been officially revealed.

I am grinning like an idiot. Charizard was my favorite since day one and the X upgrade makes him one of the best. Its stabs have no resistance and now tough claw gives direct attacks a boost. So, if the sun is out, flare blitz gets 1.5 STAB x 1.5 sunny day x 1.5 tough claw. Can you say OHKO? Outrage? 1.5 STAB x 1.5 tough claw. Can you say pure fear?

I really feel like they aren't give much love to Y when it comes to the Mega Evolutions. It's like they say, "Here look at this Mega Evolution, not much of a difference except some stats and it's appearance." and then later they are all like, "That was just the Y version, here look at this actually improved version of the Pokemon, but only in X"

So yeah, I'm getting Y and all the cool forms are going to be in X whelp I can safely say mega evolving will be the number one feature I will not be using.
Why? Because it's been how long since they introduced the older gens and they're just now doing everything we wished that they had done with them.
I like Charizard but it's a little late to go: Hey look Charizard is going to be a fire/dragon now!
Even in a game where Charizard isn't a main starter. :/
Also with each new mega form they're starting to look more and more like fan works. :T

Getting a bit sick of Charizard recently. :\ I used to think people were exaggerating when they talked about how zealously over-hyped Charizard is, but it turns out I just hadn't seen that portion of the fanbase. I completely agree. One Mega Evolution for this overrated NU thing wasn't enough, oh no, they were just trolling everyone who wanted it to become a Dragon-type so their hopes and dreams would go crashing down and then they revealed that they actually had made another Mega Form for it that is a Dragon-type! Seriously, why does everyone treat Charizard like a king?! It's only ever been awesome in the anime. Also, important message for everyone: out of consideration for people who don't want to see leaked information, please don't post anything that hasn't been officially revealed. Thank you. I already know too much. Goddamn spoilers. I really feel like they aren't give much love to Y when it comes to the Mega Evolutions. It's like they say, "Here look at this Mega Evolution, not much of a difference except some stats and it's appearance." and then later they are all like, "That was just the Y version, here look at this actually improved version of the Pokemon, but only in X" I also agree with this. Way to undermine your own game, Game Freak. Oh well, I'm still getting Y.

Fix'd that for both of you. Whoa! Thanks Dave, I completely missed those mistakes, geez! However, having looked over it several times since, I've seen one more constant error made throughout. It should read: Getting a bit overjoyed by Venusaur recently. :\ I used to think people were exaggerating when they talked about how zealously over-hyped Venusaur is, but it turns out I just hadn't seen that portion of the fanbase.
