This is only a prime example of you needing a life. You gave him the wrong code and failed to mention that the period needed to be removed before it would work, so I had to tell him the proper method. And since you seem to think that me going to every topic on the board is following you, by that logic, you're actually following me as I was a member first.

shad: Notice that I said PNG or GIF, but I did NOT say JPG. You know why? JPG sucks for sprites unless you know how to make it work properly (which you don't).

And I said use the URL tag, not the IMG tag. Please pay attention; you're annoying people who use a 800X600 resolution now.

Yeah. IMG tags are what he asked for, but you gave him IMG. tags instead WITHOUT telling him to remove the periods. Therefore, you gave him the wrong code. Of course, had you bothered to read past the part you quoted, you would have already seen that.

And just because you have no life and are on this forum 24/7 and can get to topics first and post wrong information in them does not mean I'm following you. As I said, by that sad logic, you're the one following me. And it's true, as I'm actually trying to help shad, but you just keep attacking me. GET A LIFE!

Shad: After actually reading your comic... Holy crap. I hate to be so blunt, but that sucked. You need a LOT of improvement.

First of all, in the first panel: You put the text in the wrong order. People read from left to right, not right to left. Therefore, we end up reading the text on the left side first, then the text on the right, and saying to ourselves "That made no sense... Unless you were supposed to read the stuff on the right first, but that goes against the rules of the English language."

Second: Your text is too small for such a large image. You can easily afford to make bigger text if your panels are that large. It makes it easier for everyone if they don't have to squint to read your text.

Third: Do not use text bubbles, use text boxes. See all the space you wasted with your bubbles? Look at Pokémon X for a perfect example of what to do: Recon uses boxes, so there is no wastes space. It saves room and overall looks a lot better.

Fourth: SPELLING AND GRAMMAR CHECKER!! Windows usually comes with a free copy of either MS Word or MS Works, which contains Word Processor. Both of these programs have a spelling and grammar checker built right in. I would suggest typing your text into Word and using the spell/grammar checker to fix it up, then copy the corrected text into your image editing program.

Fifth: The framework. OH DEAR LORD THIS IS HORRIBLE. Try to start out with something basic: Just make a border around each panel that is 2 pixels wide, and when you put it all together, try and match it up so it's all lined up neatly. MS Paint can zoom in to help with placement, just use the Magnifying Glass icon in your toolbar.


Sixth: Mixing bittages is usually very bad. You've got Sonig Advance sprites running around in Sonic 3 and Knuckles backgrounds. That doesn't really work well. Try and keep things matching, it makes everything a lot nicer to look at.

Seventh: Special effects: not a bad job, but you overdid it a bit. See in the 10th panel where part of Knux's running blur took out part of that column? That's no good. Since it looks like you're using something other than Paint, you probably have layers at your disposal. Put the sprites on a layer of their own so that any effects you apply to them don't change the background.

Eight: I said this already, but file format. Again, it looks like you've got something more advanced than Paint, so you probably have PNG as a save option. I would recommend using it.

I know that's a lot to take in, but keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it. Just look at me: This is my latest comic. Pretty spiffy, no? But this was my first. Everyone has to start somewhere, but over time, with practice, you WILL improve. Just keep at it, and you'll do fine.

I just assumed that he would be smarter than you and would have the sense to remove the period, Of course being smarter than you is no hard task.

Well, you got the file format down. Now just work on every other tip I gave you, because that comic... Ugh. Too stupid, too stupid! They go from being in Hidden Palace to Wing Fortress while their conversation doesn't change! Did they not talk at all until they got to the Wing Fortress, or did they warp?!

This is pretty bad. You gotta put more thought into it.
