...It isn't too button mashy...Button Mashy would ve something like Bloody Roar or whatever that game was where you transform into random things.

I don't consider something to be button mashy until I get pains through out my hand from just a few minutes of play, Case in point Bloody Roar 4 I ended up with blisters on my thumbs and the sides of my index fingers that hurt like hell after only 3 minutes of game play. I haven't played it in years because of that! I consider Soul Caliber III to be a lesser button masher cause my hands don't hurt unless I played a match non-stop for a long time, since most match's don't last more then a few minutes this never became a real problem over all. Smash Bros. though has never been like that for me, I've played match after match for hours and never had any problem. Plus moves are so easy to pull off that you don't have push in these random sequences over and over to pull off your favorite moves. It's an easy game to play yet still challenging and fun.

I mean button-mashy like as in the fact that the game doesn't take any real skill, you just run around pressing buttons and hope the other guy falls off the edge.

There is no way you can knock someone off that easily just by mashing. You normally do that by initiating a smash which is TAPPING a direction and pressing A. I seriously doubt mashing buttons will help you smash an opponent...

Learning how to play a game starts out with button mashing and then develops into actual skill.

Learning how to play a game starts out with button mashing and then develops into actual skill. Except in the case of [insert fighting game here] because all you ever fricking do is mash buttons to get stupid combos. And, Kingdom Hearts, because all you fricking do is mash X (for the battles)

I never played Kingdom Hearts and I never will. As for fighting games, the good Mortal Kombat players only made it look like button mashing because they were so fast, but I've seen people execute the sickest and most beautiful combos in that game. Trust me, once you see a guy morph Shang Tsung into Reptile, turn invisible, and do that yellow energy ball attack before you've hit towards-towards-back-kick, you know that it's more than button mashing.

Mjc, why are you even here discussing SSB? You hate it, so your input can only be negative....
Wait, you guys aren't even still discussing SSB! Argh. Make a new topic for starfox or soul caliber or whatever game you wanna talk about if you wanna talk about it, don't get into this holy ground >_>

We are talking about SSB, we just got off on a small tangent to talk about button mashers.
