Hello, welcome to the Gaming Discussion section of the Pokemon X forums. To ensure that everyone has a nice time here, we're putting a few simple rules in place. They won't be difficult to follow, and should be common sense to most people anyway.
1. The general rules of the forum still apply. This should be a given. If you don't know them, here they are. pokmonx.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=rules
Learn them and love them.
2. The rules of this section are subject to change under the almighty will of Recon, at his discretion, without prior warning.
3. You are allowed to be critical of a game or platform in a post, however this does not mean you are allowed to outright flame it. Only saying "this game sucks" or, as might also be the case, "this game is t3h suXXorZZ!! J00 All should DIE for playing it!" will not be tolerated. If you have a bad opinion about the game, explain it. This also applies to platform fanboys/fangirls. Bashing a platform without cause will not be tolerated.
4. When you create a topic name it appropriately. For example, if it's a topic about Zelda don't call it "OMG TEH MASTER SWORD PWNS!" Call it something along the lines of Zelda Games. Think before you name a topic.
5. Spoilers... boy oh boy. If there's a bigger downer in the world, it has to be learning something about a game that you might not have wanted to know yet. This will not be tolerated. If your post has spoilers in it, then you should do two things. First warn of said spoilers. That's fairly basic. Secondly, here's a bit of code you can use to hide the spoiler information.
for red posts: YOUR SPOILERS HERE
for blue posts: YOUR SPOILERS HERE
See, very simple, and easy. Even a 12 year old could do it. Spoilers are very dangerous, so treat them with care.
6. If you're going to post a link to a game you have created, stick to these guidelines, please. Firstly, keep to only one topic about the game you've created. It shouldn't really need more than that anyway, plus it keeps the board less cluttered. Secondly, don't release a wave of demos. This can get very annoying. If you're going to provide a demo, make it one that really gets people excited, or curious about your game. If you get useful comments from people concerning the demo, use them to do what you need to make your final version better. A demo is, after all, not an alpha test. Don't just fix one thing, then release it as a 'new' demo. Wait a while, really get it up and working to the point where you can call it a final version. If you've made very major changes that affect how the game will be played.... such as drastically changing the battle system, then it might be a good idea to release another demo to reflect that. Just edit the post in which you put up your first demo. Other than that, there shouldn't be much other reason to do so. We're not a game testing community or anything.
These rules are all very simple. Failure to abide by them will result in bad things happening. Beware the wrath of Recon for it strikes swiftly and without mercy. Really, just try to relax and have fun. It is a gaming discussion after all.
