Even if Peter's retardation justifies the use of 9/11 jokes, it shouldn't mean they're acceptable. I have personal reasons as to why I find any 9/11 joke offensive and how it was conducted doesn't win brownie points with a lot of people. Also, only saw the first Star Wars special... which kind of seems like a paralleled coincidence between Futurama and Family Guy now.
You notice how Star War fans and Star Trek fans might lock horns with each other over which is better? You notice how Futurama fans and Family Guy fans might also lock horns with each other over which is better?
It seems really odd that each current TV show has included Star Trek and Star Wars parodies or inclusions respectively, which could possibly fuel the fire over which series is better. A weird pairing and how it turns out in relation to the topic.
But that's just me thinking out loud.

The Penguins on Pluto episode was funny. Loved the ending.

One of the best episodes ever, imo.

Choa, I was lucky enough to not have anything to do with the events of 9/11. Therefore, I do laugh at alot of 9/11 jokes. Because, in truth, they really are hilarious from a different point of view. (We're all going to hell anyway, why not go down the fun way?)
It all depends on perspective. One thing I don't understand is the fact that we know we won't conivnce the other person to take up our view on the argument, but we continue to argue as if it will do any good. Weird.
Anyway, I like Futurama's clever poop jokes just as much as Family Guy's ADHD poop jokes.

Only episode of Futurama I hated was the last one before the movies. The shipping of Fry and Lela was good, but I just hated the Faustian style to the episode.

I'm a 9/11 conspiracy theory believer, and that's why I find 9/11 jokes funny. Anyway, pushing boundaries has always occurred on television. Simpsons said "birch" and "bastard" on the air, back in the early and mid 90's. That was a HUGE step in television history. Pushing the boundaries is natural. Personally I think boundaries should be pushed. If everyone was tolerant of everyone else, truly, no jokes would offend any other human being.

I for one find the 9/11 Conspiracies to be a bunch of bull. But How about we leave the Family Guy stuff and go back to Futurama. Since this is a Futurama Thread. And we Appreciate Futurama.

Let's also drop the controversial stuff such as 9/11. Regardless, I don't know how this new season will turn out. Apparently in the first episode all the characters are "reborn" after the last movie, but I don't exactly know what that means.

They wake up to find it was all a dream? Not sure if Groening would do a "Those 4 movies you just saw never happend!" on us.

No, because Fry and Leela are still together. Its one of the seasons main plotlines.
At first I thought they would go on adventures throughout the galaxy or something, but now I think that it goes back to a certain point in time, with all of the people on the ship still remembering everything (except maybe the professor), and all the people who died come back to life and it starts off from the end of season 4.

But if you remember that last episode, the one with the Faustian deals, Fry and Lela sortof hooked up.

The ending to the last movie.
They kiss, they are finally a couple (according to Matt Greoning).

I just really hope the focus of the new episodes don't rely heavily on romantic comedy between Leela and Fry. Sparingly is fine, like how P-X does it. If they do, they still might be entertaining... just not as hilarious as the run-of-the-mill love-hate relationships.

I look forward to these new episodes.
