We have a thread for Anime and Manga, so why not one for comics? American comics.
So, do you read them? Marvel or DC? What are you reading? Whats your favorite series? Opinions on characters, the lot, to be discussed here.
I'm a DC guy and I'm reading Gotham Central. I'm only after reading the first book and so far so good.
My favorite series is Neil Gaiman's Sandman. A brilliant story, character and lots of great artists. Whats not to like?

The only comic series I have read extensively are Simpsons Comics, Archie Comics and Futurama Comics. Basically:
Simpsons Comics fluctuate between hilarious and mediocre, often reintroducing one-off characters from the show, like Hank Scorpio.
Archie Comics are useful only for killing time, and wondering how those in Riverdale never age through 70 or so years of existence.
Futurama Comics are downright awesome.
I may read some more "traditional" comic series if I get the time and money.

We got Futuramna and Simpsons comics over here, but they aere crappy reprints from last year bundled into one. I stopped getting them when they took out the letters to the editor section.
I was a very fussy 12 year old ok?
I have never read Archie comics. I heard of them, but I never saw any of them.
One thing I would like to point out, recently I discovered that there is a book shop close to me that sells comics that come directly from America. This is great. Beforehand I had to either:
Go up to Dublin, which is an hours drive away, go to the Forbidden Planet there and get comics.
Go to the Forbidden Planet in Belfast, two hours drive away, and get comics from the (Better) Forbidden Planet there.
Or, get the crappy reprints from last year. I picked one up the other day and they are only just finished Batman R.I.P.
But there is one problem with this, I'm not that big a fan of modern comics. Most of them are written by unknowns who kill of a big character just to get noticed. I though we were finished killing off superheros after the Comic Book Massacare of the 90's!
I perfer the older ones, with classic writers such as Miller, Moore, and Gaiman.
I rest my case.

I read only Spider-Man at the moment. Luckily there are lots of awesome Marvel superheroes in Spider-Man, not just Mr. Parker himself.

The only Marvel comics I would read would be Daredevil. Its a good series.
SJ, I have a question. Are the comics in Finland in Finnish? Or do you get them in English?

Most of them are in Finnish. Spider-Man's translator is really good, so I don't mind at all, even though it would be nice to get to read the original English text sometimes. But like I said, the translator is really good.

X-Men Age of Apocalypse - An alternate universe of X-Men where Charles Xavier had been killed before creating the X-Men and Apocalypse rules the world.
Spider Man: Maximum Carnage - Spider Man, Venom, and a whole slew of Marvel heroes team up against Carnage and his team of villains to decide the fate of New York City. It's awesome.
Superman: Red Sun - An alternate time line of the DC Universe where Superman landed in Soviet-controlled Ukraine and fought for communism and the USSR.
Crisis on Infinite Earths - The DC comic series that tied together all the remakes of their comics and heroes.
