You have a point about the Mary Sue part - it annoys me too. But since the books are written from Bella's point of view, we only get to hear her thoughts, and clearly she thinks that vampires are perfect - which they are not. The thing is though, a good writer would think of a way to overcome this. I dunno, maybe she sees Edward doing something questionable? Something to stop the person reading thinking OMG ADKOHSDKIASHDFA VAMPIRES AER PERFEKT I'd like to point out that not all vampires in the Twilight world are angsty and whiny - only Edward. The rest of his family are much less annoying (except Alice). And the majority of the vampires in Twilight are red-eyed human-blood-drinking beasts they should be. Only the Cullens are veggies. But the fact that Edward is one of the main characters paints the picture that all vampires are like this. Or more likely all the "good" ones. I agree with you on the fanatic fans too - it's completely ridiculous. But some of us, the 5% who aren't "idiotic bitches who think Twilight is their life", just happen to like the fantasy elements of the story and, despite the angsty, whiny, sappy and sparkly veggies, simply like to read it. I understand that people can like the story without becoming all hung up on it but when you have sites like this where people post OMG JUST SAW A SILVER VOLVO WHILE DRIVING WITH MAH EDWAED CULLEN CUTOUT, I just go back to my pessimistic self. lolbbcode

I just watched Shrek - Forever after. It was much, MUCH better than Shrek 3. Perhaps it's the best movie of the whole series.
Seriously, I loved everything in it.

I love Shrek, but I have never seen the sequels, to be honest. My favourite part in the original was when Shrek and Donkey were walking through many landscapes and "I'm on my way from misery to happiness" was playing in the background. I may get around to watching the sequels... Though for some series, it is best to just watch the original and not force the others down the throat.

You should watch at least Shrek 2. I think it's either the best or second best movie of the series. Shrek 3 is the worst, and the first one is great, but not as great as Shrek 2 and Forever after.

Shrek 3 was ok. It wasn't the worse, or the best. It was just, ok. Immigrant Song being used was funny.

I may watch the Shrek sequels, but if I do not I will not mind. It was one of those films which both stands alone as great and which has been revisited with sequels. I am perfectly satisfied with just seeing the first one.
Saw Cleopatra recently, with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The actor who plays Octavian (Augustus Caeser before his promotion) looks so funny that I laughed every time that he appeared. I loved Burton's portrayal of Marc Antony.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that got a little teary eyed.

You all MUST see inception... it was so amazing. I've seen it twice. First two times back to back. It is my favourite movie of all time. Funny, adventurous, smart, action packed, and amazing plot.

I watched (Most) of Twilight the other night. Well, what can I say? I went into the movie thinking that all the characters would be cardboard cut outs and the plot would be absoloutly terrible. Well an hour and a half passed and my opinions changed drastically. The movie was brilliant. All the characters were well defined and the story was brilliant. I got New Moon there today and I'm gonna watch it later! So excited to see what happens! Haha no not really! The movie is a massive pile of balls. It really is. The story was generic, I could tell when something "bad" was going to happen easily. There was a part when a bunch of "bad" vampires were aboutto attack a man on a boat and I think they were trying to be intimidating by putting on gruff voices but in reality they just sounded like they had something stuck in their throats. The acting on some of the minor characters was horrific. There was a scene where a buch of girls were picking out a prom dress and the acting could not have been more forced. "Oh. I. Like. This. Dress." "Oh. But. This. One. Is. Good. Too." It felt as if my ears were being raped by a man with a sandpaper condom. Another part I was annoyed at was the immaturity of all the other male characters that weren't Edward or Jacob. They litraly chased girls around with worms on the end of a stick. These are supposed to be 16-17 year olds, not a buch of 10 year olds! The last nitpick I have with the Twilight series is with the actress who played Bella. She blinks way too much. Yes this is petty, but it is valid. There is one scene where she is talking to Edward near some lockers. At one point the camera looks at Bella for about 10 seconds. In this 10 seconds Bella blinks 16 times. It's like she has some sort of twitch that effects both her eyes and she just can't stop. But Twilight was not all terrible acting, story and characters, oh no. There is one place where Twilight just blows all the competition out of the park and that is with the amount of strange faces some of the characters pull. Espically Bella. For example, in the scene where her and Edward are talking in the lab she pulls what can only be described as a "rape face" at Edward. Don't believe me? Look for yourself. So that's Twilight. I watched it with some friends so we were making jokes at every possible moment but I still took notes of what I was watching, if only to justify the loss of many many brain cells. I only got to the scene where Bella and Jacob were walking on a beach. (If you really want to know where I left it it was the part where a boy chases a girl with some seeweed on a stick) before I was pulled away to watch Big Brother. I really don't know which one made my brain die quicker. EDID: Added Bella's rape face
