It has come to my attention there is no general movie thread.
It's ok though, I fixed it.
So, talk about movies, what movies you just saw, what movies you are going to see, whatever.
BUT FIRST: Spoilers, whoo, nobody likes them. Don't do it. If you need to post a spoiler/spoiler-esque thing use these:
Add "/" before the last "color",
Red posts come after blue posts, this forum isn't the quickest mover so its easy to predict what colour post you have.
Now to start, I'm re-watching Hot Fuzz. A hilarious movie about a London cop who moves to a country department. It's funnier than it sounds.

I just watched Wuthering Heights with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. I never read the book. The movie was touching, and Olivier has a scary-looking face at times, as if he is so immersed into his acting that he exhibits more emotion than someone in a similar but real situation would not exhibit. I also saw his version of Hamlet. Oh, his facial expressions made me laugh.

I've only seen one version of Hamlet, the one with Kevin Kline. It was ok I guess.

I just saw Date Night and Kickass. Best Action-drama-romantic-comedies out there.

Saw Nightmare On Elm Street. Not as good as the original in terms of gore, or pure scariness. Freddy didn't spew his one liners until the end, but when he did, it was absolutely amazing. Take the acting, development, and cinematics of this movie, mixed with the plot, music, and gore of the original (also make Freddy as funny as he was in the original) you got yourself one KILLER movie. But still the remake was acceptable in my eyes, and I am a HUGE Freddy fan. Also, I was sad that they didn't do a remake of Johnny Depp's death.

I watched Iron Man 2 last week. I liked it, but it wasn't as good as the first one and there were a lot of things I didn't understand, because I've never read Iron Man comics.

I actualy made a thread like this but almost no one posted in it. Probably because of the now dead spam lounge. Movie discusionBut yeah the most recent movie I've seen is Iron Man 2. I loved the first one because of the action and special effects. I think Iron Man 2 was better because they improved on character development and it had an engaging story to it to. One thing that that cofusses me is why Don Cheadle played Rohdy in this one instead of Terrence Howard. Also did ya'll stay after the credits? if not then here is what happened. Highlight at own risk We see a desert landscape, with sandy dunes punctuated by the occasional bit of scrub. There are mountains off in the distance. A black car zooms across the screen, dust and exhaust in its wake. The car swerves and roars towards the camera, and we see its New Mexico license plate: 8RE 2Z1. A man steps out of the car, and then we see him standing on top of a tall hill with a single tree, looking down at something.
The man is revealed to be SHIELD agent Coulson, wearing dark glasses and a dark suit.
He's looking down at a smoking crater, which is being circled by a bunch of cars, as feverish activity takes place around it. He turns away from the crater, and touches his earpiece. "Sir," he says, "We've found it." The camera pans back to show what's in the crater — Thor's hammer, looking much like it does in the comics.

In my defence that thread was made in September 2009. That would be a serious necro on my part.
I was going to see Iron Man 2 but I never got around to it. But after what you guys said about it I might try and go see it.
I just have to be bothered to.

I have not seen the film Life is Beautiful since Grade 11 (late 2007), but I would like to bring it up. An Italian film with English subtitles, it is set in pre-World War II Italy and then during the war years. A great film, it is both hilarious and touching. You have to watch it to feel the meaning. I am not going to spoil what specifically is the plot. The lead actor won the Oscar for Best Actor, a big achievement considering that it is a foreign-language film.

Yes, that is the original, Italian title. The lead actor made me laugh even in the most tense times of that film.

I've recently watched "The Longest Yard" and even though I don't like sports movies this one was pretty good. Adam Sandler was as funny as ever in it. There was one thing that bugged me through out the movie. Were did Cheeseburger Eddie get all that McDonalds food?!
