Blaise would be a good name for any Fire-type. Blaise = Blaze, get it? You could name your Flareon Blaise.

Why not just name it Blaze then?

Because Blaze isn't a real name.

Blaise is a good name, but what if it ends up female?

Flare? I named my Ninetails Flare since it was a female.

I named my Bagon Gaia, which is now a Salamance. Yep, it fits a Sandslash.

Any name suggestions for Shiftry, Hariyama, Manectric, Torkoal or Sharpedo? I'm gonna use them in Battle Frontier in my latest Emerald, but I haven't decided their names yet.

I always went with Shifty and Sharky for Shiftry and Sharpedo

Thanks for suggestions, but I was thinking about giving them real names.

I like the name Bolt for Manectric. I once named a Shiftry Cranky...but it had a jolly nature. I would name a Hariyama either, Harry for male, or Harrietta for female.
