Thank you, Joe. It was the first time I've drawn Swanna, and I'm pleased with how it turned out myself.

I agree, your art just took a sharp turn upward. Congrats!
Also, independence from who, exactly? Isn't Finland one of those countries that has multiple independence days? (Like I know Greece has one from the Turks and one from the Nazis.)

Finland got independence from Russia in 1917, and that's the only independence day we celebrate.
And thanks.

So, here's the first Christmas pic I've drawn this year: My Black Pokémon Desiree the Gothitelle and Ian the Sawk love Christmas as much as the next Pokémon, but the reason I chose to draw them was because Gothitelle look a bit like Christmas trees and because I thought it would be hilarious to draw a Sawk in a Santa Claus outfit. Tell me what you think.

Ooooookay, no one likes Sawk in Santa outfits, gotta remember that for next Christmas. Anyway, Happy New Year! Felix the Haxorus is Dragon Dancing, because, you know, it's the Year of the Dragon. Tell me what you think.

Like the Dragon Dance, though the arms are kinda off. The head blades look like they were a pain to do; I know I'd probably head-desk trying to do those. XD

XD Haxorus is a difficult Pokémon to draw, but the head blades didn't give me much trouble. The feet were the most painful to try to get right. And yes, the arms are kinda off. Symmetry and consistency have never been my strong points. Oh, it's the year of the dragon? Huh. Nice pic. Thanks, and yes.

Okay, time to upload something new! I decided to start a new picture series. I'll draw a picture of each one of my game characters and their main six Pokémon. Fortunately, I've already drawn Marlowe and her team ages ago (you can find the picture on page 62), so that's one less for me to do. And now that I've drawn Jake's team, that leaves only six characters (Lenny, Dick, Migel, Pirlea, Graham and Sirius) and... 36 Pokémon to draw. Ouch. Anyway, about the picture - I'm quite proud of it. I think I'm finally starting to notice myself that I do have improved somewhat over the years. I don't think I could have made all those Pokémon look like that a couple of years ago. As you might notice, Jake has a new look. He has the same backbag, but his clothes are different, he has lost his silly hat and he has let his hair grow longer. I decided that after his journey in Hoenn, he made a few changes in both appearance and personality. His team: Shirley the Charizard Ralph the Raichu Ginger the Golem Cecil the Victreebel Homer the Hypno Anthony the Poliwrath Apologies to Mechy for not drawing his request before this picture, but I have plenty of time to do it this weekend or next week. I know drawing a Samurott and a Leavanny won't take nearly as long as this picture. Tell me what you think.

If i may make a suggestion, why not give slight shading a try, a little shadowing here and some highlights there, nothing too large just small touches, because otherwise (this is just for me) the pictures look bland for lack of a better way to put it. Also, you mentioned you've improved over the years, why not show that by going back to some of your older pictures and revamping them and making them up to your today standards.

I'm glad you said "some" instead of "all", because revamping over two hundred pictures would be a huge job.
I don't know... I might redraw some of my favorite pics just to see how much my art style has changed, but I've never tried shading seriously. I know that I'll never really get better if I don't give it a try eventually, but I draw just for fun. I still use Paint, the most simple art program there is, and Paint doesn't have any shading tools. If I had really wanted to, I could have tried to learn to use better programs by now, but I just haven't bothered.
I know that my pictures are and always have been bland. I don't really mind it, as long as people comment on my art and tell me what they really think. Positive feedback is always nice, but I certainly welcome critique, because it reminds me time and time again that I'm not a real artist and that there are lots of ways I could improve. I doubt I'll ever make a career out of art (in fact that's almost positively impossible) and there are other things I want to do with my life. Still, critique is welcome even if I choose to ignore it or not follow the advice it gives. Sometimes I get new ideas out of it and it is useful nevertheless.
Of course, I'm not talking about critique such as: "You suck, get a life, loser."

Never been good at giving critique... but if there's one thing I've noticed often is that your subjects tend to have noodle-structure limbs (particularly the arms). I know trying to get limbs in poses looking decent is a pain, but it's a big help if ya study/reference another image of such when trying to draw it; hell even studying your own limbs in such poses can be quite helpful. Making a guess, but ya seem to draw limbs without interuption as a pair of contiguous lines. If so, maybe try drawing in "sections"; such as forearm and arm (upper arm). Might not be quite as clean, but that's what erasing was made for.
Hope that's a bit helpful. ^_^;

You guessed right, I do draw limbs without interruption. In fact, I draw almost everything like that. If it goes wrong, I erase the whole thing and try again. Maybe that's the reason I finish my pictures so quickly - I don't spend much time trying to correct the anatomy, if I myself am satisfied with it.
Of course, quite often I notice certain details that look horribly wrong, and then correct them after I've already uploaded the picture. It's embarrassing - you think I would've learned by now.
And sometimes I do study my own limbs when I draw poses, but I don't think it does much good. I think I'll follow your advice and draw the limbs in different sections in the upcoming pictures of my game characters - I still have six left, so this is a perfect opportunity to practice different poses and stuff.

Here is your request, Mechy! I hope you like it. I like how Leavanny looks myself, but I'm not too happy with Samurott. I couldn't fit him completely in the picture - or I could have, but in that position the picture would have become much bigger and it would have had too much empty space for my liking. Tell me what you think, PLEASE.

The perspective in this is really well drawn. Great picture. Glad you're still keeping this up.
