Necroposting is bad, its a waste of time, and its just used to build up your post count. No one cares about old threads anyway.

Necroposting is bad, its a waste of time, and its just used to build up your post count. No one cares about old threads anyway. Even if the last sentence in that were true, it's true that just replying in old threads can be just a cheap way to increase your post count. But why does it matter? As long as there is something new to add to the topic, I don't think said topic should be closed off to the rest of the forum. What if a person who was on a leave of absence came back only to discover that a thread he or she wanted to comment in has already been closed off, or these arbitrary reply deadlines prevent him or her from contributing to the conversation? Saying that this person simply "missed their chance" is nothing short of elitist and, quite frankly, mean. What should be clamped down upon are random posts with little-to-no relevancy, such as one-word replies, hate comments or ones that bear profanity. I realize that as a person who prides himself on derailing and eradicating topic relevancy, it may sound strange coming from me, but think about it: is it really necessary to prevent people from talking about what they want to talk about? After all, it'll only result in banning people... and do you really want to shoo away the fans? But, as I'm sure I'll be yelled at about for making a long and probably (unfortunately) meaningless comment, we're getting off-topic, and if anybody dares to make a thread on complaints about the way the forum is run (it's sort of daunting to think of, since there's actually a list of the people who got banned easily found on the front page of the forum), we can discuss this further there. I don't want to be banned, since I do enjoy forumizing in depth about the topics apparently covered here. Thus, I do, actually, encourage a moderator/admin to lock this thread before the debate on forum ethics gets taken any further. If I have any more ideas for the continuation of the comic, I'll post them in another thread uninfected by spam. Though much of it here has been caused by me. D:

Y'know Panda... you don't need to repeat what was just said by getting your +1 in by saying "lock it"...
Just saying... >.>

This thread did have a purpose. It's just that people weren't answering his question.
The reason it's not a perfectly identical SFX is because Recon wanted to make the joke, but wasn't strict enough to make sure he got the wording of it right.
I'll lock this thread if this has answered your question.

Munky, i think daveshn wants you to answer his question before he locks the thread because I'm sure that otherwise he would have done it sometime in the past week.
EDIT: if you dont kow what the question was look up, its in the comment just above this one
