If I were gonna buy one of these games, I'd probably choose Chikorita. But I'm not gonna buy them.

It already convinced me enough to buy it. They haven't revealed everything about the game, but I know theres more to come.

Welp I checked Serebii.net seems that they'll have Crystal play a support role in the game (or Gold if you play as Crystal...) simmiler to the roles that the other games had for the second hero... They also had a picture with the new character designs gold looks pretty good but Crystal looks a little weird... Mind you Crystal's always looked a bit strange to me but still... I'm also a bit amused that she no longer has blue hair...

Yea she looks weird, she looked better the original way. But Gold looks cool. I'm 100% sure I'll buy it when it comes out in the U.S.

Johto was always a bit hillbilly-ish compared to the urban Kanto region. You guys need to step back and look at this from a pan-cultural aspect across the board; you crazy, modern video gamers and looking at everything from a gamer point of view. Totally missing the point of games.
Anyhow, I might buy this. I never wasted my money on Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, etc.; why make my 120+ hours each generation totally null and void by doing it all over again in a preview for the next generation's features?
Hoenn was always my fav region, but Johto was a pretty good place, too. The new Pokemon were a bit weird for my taste, but the place had great atmosphere. I'd probably say that Johto falls into second place right behind Hoenn.
Nother thing is that I never did OWN Gold/Silver; it was my brother's copy, so we'd periodically erase each other's data. His cyndaquil and my totodile had several incarnations. Take a good region, the features of that generation, and bring up to modern standards, and we'll have ourselves a very nice remake.

Johto never seemed "hillbilly-ish" to me, (could be the lack of hill folk but I could be wrong) It certainly seemed to be very rural but not much more then Kanto...
