Oh god... the jokes about the "mostly sand" in Brendan's pants from a few comics back suddenly make a completely horrifying kind of sense.

Not bad way to start out Wally's tale. However, small problem with the news.
Sure would suck if Wally found out Wally's secret.
Also, Cabinet, could you scale back that picture? It's really breaking the horizontal scroll.

So many questions. What pokemon is that and what is Wally and Rocky's destination?...Wait, I think one of those questions has been answered.

"Your wish is my command" says Arceus as a Numel launches itself at Wally's balls
But yeah, it's wonderful seeing all of these frequent updates now and again, really appreciate all the work you put into these, Recon~

Wally is a lot like me, he doesn't talk much. That's one of the reasons I like him.
If this Pokémon is a Numel, then Wally might as well not catch it. Surely he knows that it evolves into Camerupt, who is not a green Pokémon and therefore he wouldn't want to keep it. I have a bad feeling that he's also going to ditch his Electrike and Gulpin after they've evolved. Brendan should really give Wally his Everstone, so Wally could make those Pokémon hold it in turns, but I'm afraid it's too late now.

Surely there'd be some equivalent to pressing B to stop an evolution?

Surely there'd be some equivalent to pressing B to stop an evolution? Yelling "Boo!"? Supposedly the 'b' thing surprises a Pokemon out of evolution (it's on the trainer tips signs in the games, iirc), so a sufficient shocker should stop the process even in the lack of a button.

That sounds good, but I don't think that just yelling "boo" would shock Pokémon enough to cancel evolution. Maybe kicking sand at Gulpin and Electrike or spraying water on Numel would work better.

In the Pokemon Adventures manga, the characters just had to press a button on their Pokedex and a special radio wave would disrupt the evolution...I just realized how powerful of a weapon that could become.

It just stops the Trainer's Pokemon from evolving. And it's short range anyway, so the applications are tiny.

Another thing, which has probably been answered before, but I've always wondered why the characters just don't run from a wild Pokémon battle...

You know, that is a good question. I don't know if Recon has ever answered it, but my guess is that the gang usually only encounters Pokémon they haven't caught before, and because they are on a mission to fill the Pokédex, they don't want to run away because they have to catch every new Pokémon they see.
Although if Brendan encounters any Geodude, he kills them dead.
