Surprised no one else mentioned this yet.
As I'm sure you all heard, Mr. Jobs passed after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 56.
I love my iPod Touch. Thanks, Mr. Jobs. See you when I see you.

Funny you decided to make a thread about this. I was on the fence about posting a thread after the last article I saw regarding the death. Saves me the trouble I guess. Allow me to get the formalities out of the way first. Steve Jobs was a great man. Microsoft/Linux fanboy or not, you have to respect the man for making the P.C. accessible to many, many people. Argue about the price, how you don't like the layout, personal preference ect. but you have to agree that he did advance where the personal computer stands in today's world. He was also a pretty good businessman. He founded Apple, was kicked out, set up another company that was eventually bought by Apple and soon enough he was head of Apple again. He then took Apple from a pretty bad situation and introduced the ipod. This, along with the itouch and ipad brought Apple to the point where they were earning more money than the U.S. Treasuary!I have never been a fan of Mac computers. I've always been accustomed to Windows. I just find it too alien to use properly. I am a big fan of the itouch, iphone and ipad though. Their handheld stuff, in my opinion, is really amazing. I've had an iphone 3GS for a year and a half now. It really is the best phone I have ever had. When the backlight went on it two weeks ago I felt as if I had lost a thumb. I use it for a load of things. It really is an extension of me. The whole death thing was sudden, but not unexpected. People act shocked but you have to remember that he was off on sick leave many times over the past few years, he had a liver transplant in 2009 and left his position because of his illness. His death wasn't a matter of how he would go, it was a matter of when. As sad as it is, it's the truth unfortunately. Now it's time for me to rant a little. I've read several articles over the past few days. I was interested in the iphone show that was on a couple of days ago and as I result I was stuck to the Technology tab on Google News. I've also been getting updates on my Twitter feed. Just a few minutes ago I was linked to an Escapist article. It tells that the Westboro Baptist Church are going to (Predictably) picket his funeral. It also says that Wikileaks has posted a leak of Steve's alleged medical records. They say that he could have had HIV, They, rather stupidly, say that Wikileaks are "Trolling" his death. Yes, the timing was wrong. But you have to remember that Wikileaks is a news source. It doesn't spin stuff, it just gives the transparent facts. Here's the Escapist trying to make it controversial. It annoys me. [/rant] There isn't much else to talk about? Well, it seems as if there isn't much people, or news stations seem to be reporting about, is there? All I've gathered from the past twenty-four hours is that he's dead and here's a list of Apple's ten best products. Is there a date or place planned for his funeral?

The iPad is actually a wonderful tool for toddlers, the elderly, and people with mental and physical disorders. The large layout and screen make seeing and reading easy to do while being able to run a vast amount of friendly, exciting, and helpful programs.
Good jon, Jobs.

Believe it or not, but I've never used any Apple products, but I totally respect Steve Jobs's work and achievements. The man was a winner. Rest in peace.

Some people say that right before you die, your life flashes before your eyes. It didn't for Steve Jobs.
Apple doesn't support Flash.
(All jokes aside, he was a great man who will be missed. The only thing keeping my girlfriend sane is her ipod.)

I was surprised he was actually dead when I opened up my google homepage (it said "Steve Jobs 1955-2011"). I thought it was a mistake or something because of the talk about how he got replaced but in actuality just resigned as CEO. I can't exactly cite where I read this. But I do recall it happened a while back.
Anyways. RIP Steve Jobs
