It has come to the mod squad's attention that the forum could be more active. Although there is no consensus as to whether the forum is dead or not (probably not if we get at least 25 posts in 3 days), it would be nice to have some more activity, even if each person lurking made some sort of input.
Suggestions would be nice. Non-lurkers welcome to share ideas, too.
Also don't worry I'll have something up to (hopefully) up forum activity soon.

Um... I don't really know. The only real (non-pony) activity makers are contests, the comic itself, and the podcasts. As contests flop pretty regularly and the other two are dependent on a busy Recon, that's a conundrum. Actually, even the MLP thread is really only posted on for new episodes.

This forum is quite dead. I'm not sure if we even get that 25 posts in three days anymore. Everyone seems to have nothing to say and nothing to share. No one has commented in my art thread since I uploaded a new picture a week ago. The lack of replies was the exact reason why I closed my thread before and why I lost my motivation to keep drawing. I won't close my thread again, but I can't lie, this inactivity and the general lack of new ideas has brought my hopes down.
I've only logged in once every few days myself lately. I don't feel like I have to do it more often, since there are so few new posts every time I check the forums. I guess you can count me as a lurker now too. The comic doesn't update, I don't listen to the podcasts and there are better places on the Internet to discuss MLP and other things I like.
I'm sorry to say that I don't have any ideas or suggestions. I promise to support any ideas you can come up with. In the meantime, I'll try to improve my attitude. Mods are supposed to set an example, after all.

Mods are supposed to set an example, after all. Now see I disagree completely. I sign in everyday maybe 3 or 4 times and there's generally new posts every time I check, albeit maybe 2-5 new posts I don't normally read them all either it be they don't interest me, or I have nothing to do with them. What I feel is lacking in this forum is a need to communicate with each other. everything is either minecraft or MLP. I feel if other topics were created it doesn't matter what about it would be a little more easier to do things. even if the forums had more broader sections, instead of having a "games section" why not have a media section where TV books and the like can be discussed. the there can be a general forum for the Comic, the podcast and anything else related to those two, then there could be your Art Section for fan fiction and Fan art and what not, and then on the side and Other section for everday things they don't fit in anywhere else. Albeit this requires a complete remodel on how the forum is set up now but I feel if there was more organization at hand it would improve things. Because the main problem now is the lack of threads that last. and the lack of new threads coming in. Any takers on my idea?

This forum is quite dead. I'm not sure if we even get that 25 posts in three days anymore. When I checked the 25 most recent posts, it dated back to the 10th. Fortunately, this indicates the forum is not dead by any standard, although it's much slower than we remember. That's part of the problem. Once in a blue moon, a different thread will be created not relating to MLP or Minecraft but won't last. I was interested in gauging what other forumites were interested in discussing. Although I don't know how much organisation will impact the activity level, it wouldn't hurt to rename a forum or two.

The last time I can remember the forum being really active was the lead up to and release of Black and White. I'm afraid I can't think of any suggestions to get us going again.

I haven't been posting as much as I used to myself. I just don't really feel the need to post so much anymore. vOv
I have no real ideas for the forum myself. I would like to hear anything you guys have to say though.

Actually, we've had 25+ posts in the past 24 hours.
I also am not sure of how to get more activity in general, I havn't dealt with forums much (this is one of two that I visit). My only idea would be to have more opportunities for new members to get involved but, no clue how to go about doing that.
Personally I'm just posting more, seeing what happens.

I agree with HomicidalChicken. Let's just all post more. That's all we can do.
And I think the forum is already becoming more alive.

Hmm. If I were to put in my two cents, I'd have to agree with Zombie about the general Media discussion area. And not only that, but I think that the thread about introducing yourself is a bit impersonal. I think that there should be one area where new members can make a thread to tell a bit about themselves and we can ask questions about their interests. Of course, they wouldn't stay open or active for long since the member may ormay not become active on the other parts of the forums. Another good thread to have might be a General Questions thread that includes the FAQ in the first post, but goes to question not necessarily on the FAQ. And if we're looking for more posts, not more threads (Like I think we are) I suggest a thread that we can post all of our life's happenings in. A kind of Off-Topic Community Discussion. Lurkers Unite to create a vivid, lively environment!

Eh, we had an off-topic thread a while back. The Spam Lounge. It was awful all around. Instead of making an off-topic thread, why not make threads for the thing you were going to derail about? It's not that hard. All you have to do is click "new thread" rather than "new post".
I also don't think a TV/Movie section would be great either. I really don't see the support in it. Every TV/Movie thread we have had in recent memory died pretty quickly.
A question I would like to know is why don't you lurkers post more? I'm genuinely interested in knowing why.
