So, according to Serebii, the three starters are confirmed to be monotypes. Don't know if that also applies to their evolutions.

Let's hope not.

I do not mind them being monotype.

Monotypes make uninteresting starters. I'd like to see new type combos like fire/psychic, grass/fighting, and water/dark.
That'd be a cool combo, eh?

Actually, I think that the popular opinion is Grass/ Dark, Fire/Psychic and Water/ Fighting, based on the moves they used in the trailer. EDIT: This is some dubious-at-best information, but I'll post it here anyway just in case.

That's a pretty safe bet.

And apparently its name is Ninfia. UPDATE: I wrong (not surprising) and its actually an Eeveelution. www.serebii.net/ninfia.jpgType and method of evolution not yet known. My guess is that its a flying type just because Psychic and Normal are taken. Literally 5 minutes and there is already fan art.

Yeah, some people work crazy fast.
A Flying-type Eeveelution would be awesome, but I was kind of hoping that there wouldn't be any more Eeveelutions. Seven was quite enough in my opinion.

Gah! I was beaten in delivering Pokémon news! Accursed time zones! *sulks in the corner* Anyway, here's the full scan: My guess is that its a flying type just because Psychic and Normal are taken. Normal type isn't taken. There's no Normal type Eeveelution. A Flying-type Eeveelution would be awesome, but I was kind of hoping that there wouldn't be any more Eeveelutions. Seven was quite enough in my opinion. I think most everyone knew they'd make more this generation, since they've taken on the pattern of introducing new ones every two gens. Admittedly, I was pretty sure it was Normal type at first due to its pinkness, but then I saw this, and I was (at least temporarily) convinced.

Serebii wrote that the evolution method and type are both secret. So maybe we are getting a New type. The dawn of the Light type is upon us.

If they do make a new type, I hope it's more creative than light and sound.
I'm not going to lie that the new eevelution doesn't look appealing. Lose the butterfly bow-tie and ribbons and it'd be fine. I am going to doubt it's a flying type due to its lack of wings.
However, there is one piece of really good news that comes from all this. They're evolving past gen pokemon again! Farfetch'd evolution FTW!

English name for Ninfia is Sylveon. Which according to a dictionary, a "sylvan" is an inhabitant of a forest or made of wood. Which means three things: I got the wrong word. Game Freak is doing doubles of Eevee's evolution. (I hope not) Sylveon's name means somethings that won't make sense until her type is actually revealed.

The names across all languages seem to pretty unanimously point towards the fae folk. What this indicates with regards to typing is beyond me, however. Though I suppose it's worth mentioning that many "Fairy" Pokémon are Normal type, so...

Nothing new in the last two months since last post, aside from a possible MewTwo form.
