Magneton is part Steel, isn't he? Some well-placed Thundershocks make the fight a bit risky, but a key Water Gun can rust them up like no tomorrow.

Um. In the anime, maybe( though, good steel rusts a lot slower than normal iron). But Recon promised us no cheap badges like Ash vs. Brock. In the games, which the comics are based on, only Fire, Fighting, and Ground moves work well against Steel. But Wingull can't learn any of those. I thought maybe a TM, but, nope! Water and Electric do OK, but no better than normal, especially from something weak like Wingull, and with Electric resistance for Magneton, and everything else is ineffective. And Electric is only weak to Ground, but Ground can't hit Magneton because it has Levitate for its ability. Brendan may have a trick up his sleeve somewhere, but Wingull itself is screwed. Unless it has Ice Beam( which would only do half damage anyway) and manages to Freeze Magneton solid, a VERY rare status effect.

Ok I hope it'll be a really good battle because I can't believe this really is Brendan's secret weapon. Wingull is screwed unless magneton misses a million times in a row

Wow, Recon's got people coming out of the woodwork to comment about this move.
By the way, I liked the pun.

Once on top of your pony, it's OK to fire up your chainsaw. Hold it high and practice your war face.

Yes....I still exist. After thinking a bit, I did find one reason for <I mispelled the main character's name because I'm an idiot> to pull out Wingull....Supersonic. I tend to find Supersonic very annoying when used on me. Still, you never know with Recon and it'll be a blast to find out the plan.

Hmm, But wouldn't that be risky. I mean even if Wingull haves and uses Supersonic, What happens if Magneton don't attack it's self at all. But Brendan might get lucky...He always does. And yes...being confused can really get annoying.

Hate to burst your bubble, Magneton does not have levitate Not in the game, but Recon decided a while back that, since they float, they are immune to ground attacks (or at least magnitude and EQ). Yes....I still exist. After thinking a bit, I did find one reason for your mother to pull out Wingull....Supersonic. I tend to find Supersonic very annoying when used on me. Still, you never know with Recon and it'll be a blast to find out the plan. Eh, supersonic is risky. You have as good of a chance with sand attack, which has already been used. Plus, it was his secret weapon, so it must be able to do something that could have taken out other electric types as well.

I just double-checked Serebii. Steel does indeed take double damage from Water attacks.
This could mean a showdown, as Water/Flying is just as bad against Electric, but Rocky did soften it up enough beforehand.

I think you have it confused. Water takes half damge from steel. Fire gives twice as much damage to steel.
EDIT: Is the trick frustration? The wingull seemed to not be fond of Brendan when he caught it.
You wouldn't be using hidden power ground, would you?

Ahaha. Genius. No one would attack their favourite Pokemon. I think I may know what's coming next for Brendan's Wingull.
