Yeah I’m back. Hi, sup, etc. I just have a few observations to make. Not that I expect anything revolutionary or anything to happen, but I thought I’d give you something to think about.
First off, why do we even need the Pokémon-X Role Play forum? It’s been dead for a few years and the only reason it still gets posts is from the nu/b/reed who don’t know what’s going on. I really doubt the active users here are from the mjc era and that’s when the Role Play was the most useful. Now, it serves no purpose and I seriously doubt there will be a revival.
Second, in addition to balance out the loss of the Role Play forum, we might as well create either a debate forum or forum games forum. No, I’m not really into forum games much anymore, as most of them are temporary, non-contributory, or boring. But I would rather have a place on the forum where forum games could be dumped rather than seeing it clog up GD. Better yet, do it in the Spam Lounge because it seems unorganized. Better better yet, take all forum games and spam lounge to its separate forum and disable post count increases if Proboards allows it.
Lastly, Contests. Let’s do another.

Thats a good idea in my opinion.
I was thinking this morning about why dont we have a seprate place for forum games. Strange

Why disable post counts in the spam lounge? It's not like post counts are worth anything. Well, except bragging rights. But that isn't worth anything, either.

Now that you mention that, a lot of the forums I go on use post count for some incentive. I guess it doesn't matter, but the nu/b/reed that actually think higher post count means something might not spam as much in GD, or at least will confine everything in another forum that won't allow +1s.

I agree we don't need a Role Play forum every attempt to revive it end in failure so scrap it and replace it with a forum game section also I think that the Contest section should be open to all not just staff

But if its open to everyone then it could be filled with nu/b/reed contests that nobody posts in

Actually the problem is that both moderators of that section are inactive as hell and we don't really hold very many contests. At least we can have a selectively-minded option of which contests we should do and what contests we don't do. I think it's stupid it's only staff.

It wouldnt be so bad if we were able to pm the mods and ask them to set up a contest for us

I think it was some MMORPG or something. But since I don't like Role Plays habitually and it's old, we don't really need it. Replace it or destroy it, I say.
Also, why are there so many pinned threads throughout the forum?

Your right. Some of them you can see the point in (rules, introduce yourself)
but others dont need to be pinned (Nekocon)
And that just the general chat

I personally think that pinning so many rules in a forum is kinda weird. Why not just have ONE rules thread or at least not worry about pinning locked topics in the rules forum. Not like I can post in the unlocked thread in the rules forum. Believe me, I tried. Threads that don’t need pinning are:
-NekoCon - I don’t even know what it is.
-Comic Progression - Old and has the old URL. Not like we’re going to see how far ahead we are in the comic. It also got into an argument with me and telling Panda not to throw his weight around, so yeah.
-The official “What’s going to happen?” thread - Might as well delete it.
-Comic-Con 08 - Because we’re modern, that’s why.
- Mario Kart races - Old and who plays it nowadays? There are way too many pinned threads in Gaming for some reason.
-Digimon Legends - Only if it’s dead.

Why not just have ONE rules thread Well, in other cases, it would cause users to notice them more.

There are a good few topics that need un-pinning (Is that a word?)
On the topic of mario kart. I was playing it earlier...
And another topic that definatly needs un-pinning is The most shameful of plugs. Its a broken link from photobucket
