I watched the first ever Disney cartoon in my Reel America class yesterday and I got to say. Mickey Mouse is not a good role model

Bad Mickey! That's a bad Mickey!
Seriously... I didn't know he used to be like that. These days he's almost a saint.

They left out the funniest (and the most offensive) part of that scene though!

It's still available on YouTube.
I wish Disney made hand-drawn cartoons and movies again. The musical and fantasy nature of the old Disney is simply nostalgic.

Lol, funny. I wish Disney made hand-drawn cartoons and movies again. The musical and fantasy nature of the old Disney is simply nostalgic. I agree. They're much better than CGI.

But if they still made all the fims by hand they would lose they're nostalgic feeling.
It may look better but Disney like all companys have to run with the times. Even if some people dont like it. I personally havent watched Disney since I was 10 and dont like what they are doing now but they still have to move with the times.

It may look better but Disney like all companys have to run with the times. I hear this far too often. It's irrelevant. Companies don't have to change, the ideals and atmosphere you find in any environment can be preserved if they're enforced. Obviously they aren't. There are people who truly liked things the way they were enough to stand up for those principles. And since the CEOs won't do it, us Disney appreciators have to do it ourselves. I remember when the average movie wasn't mindless garbage - where you could watch the movie without thinking twice about how much Disney was going to mutate into the typical pop culture shite. The point is, I don't see why a company should roll over for degenerates that think Miley Cyrus is the Second Coming. The people who drew out original ideas and cartoons had given up a long time ago, which is why the original Disney image has changed so frequently. They want Jonas Brothers, I want Song of the South. Why should we be the ones to get with it or stfu? THEY should stfu.

You have a good point. But you have to remember Disneys target audience. It was always kids. It always will be kids. Disney are going to go with what the kids want because it will get them more money. In about 2 years HannahMontanna and the Jonas Brothers will be replaced with the new wave of Disneys 'Finest'.
And that cycle will repeat over and over and over again. Its always happened and it alway will happen. But Disney will go back to the old style of drawing in about 10 years time (My estimate) to cash in on us because we think we are getting the same stuff we were getting as children. But it wont be the same.
(Im after re-writing that 3 times to say the right stuff)

I just watched Alice in Wonderland. It was surprisingly good. Better than the Narnia movies. And The Princess and the Frog was awesome. Disney is making a comeback! I mean it. AWESOME.
