So we are now in December and Christmas looms upon us. What are you getting? Do you like Christmas? And so on. Santa says you should not give out to Cabinet for bringing up Christmas so early.

I enjoy Christmas for the mystique it had in childhood which has lived on in me. Now I care far more about the family connection than presents, and I personally have no idea what presents I will receive.
Still, just being with my mother is what makes Christmas great for me. I love the season - the hope-in-suffering mood is what inspired me to start writing Sea Cottage - and while I do not agree with the consumerism attached to it, I overall enjoy December, and this holiday is mostly responsible for that enjoyment.
Of course, since my birthday is six days after Christmas, I have other reasons to like December. Still, Christmas is something I do anticipate each time winter approaches.

Me too, hopefully.
I'm going to eat Christmas dinner at my grandparents' place again this year. I love my grandparents. My sister and my mother don't want to come there, and my father is going to another town with his wife, but it has always been my tradition to eat Christmas dinner at my grandparents', so that's what I'm gonna do this year too. And maybe my uncle and his common-law wife and son will be there too. It's been a while since I've seen them.
And I'm not sure if you know this already, but us Finnish open our presents on the 24th. Ha!

I read a short but visually appealing book called "Christmas in Finland", and it looked magical. I guess the ice and snow create a strong atmosphere for the winter holiday.
Snowfall has been steadily increasing in British Columbia, but often it just turns into black ice and makes life miserable.
Still, late December is the time of the year I most anticipate, and there will be a gathering with my Iranian grandparents, who are amazing chefs.

They sure do, but the global warming has affected even the Finnish winter. Right now we have snow, but it has plenty of time to melt before Christmas... I hope it won't. So its like what the Germans do. Do you have the Christkind? (Christ child) Umm, yeah.

Meh, 1 good gift and 7 peices of crap. Or that's what I've heard, at least. My jewish friends say there is one good present and 7 things that are only sub-par, but I wouldn't know.
