There's snow on the ground in Finland! Yay!

When I woke up this morning, there was snow on the ground. A good amount, but not too much, making it scenic but not dangerous (the best snow there can exist). This is good for the holiday mood, provided the snow sticks. I walked through it today for an hour and it felt like I was in a different world. The only thing I dislike about the season right now is the fact that about half of the music played in shops is annoying. What do you have against Christmas music? I think Christmas music is awesome!

Most of it is awesome to me, but some of it just drives me nuts, especially since the shops play the "recent" (1980-2000) covers of the great original songs rather than the originals themselves, and the covers are mostly awful.

Oh But those are the best Christmas songs.

There was one recent song (jazz, I believe) related to Christmas which I liked. The rest, though, hurt my ears.
As far as Christmas songs are concerned, I like the sound of caroling more than that of modern singing.

I got too old for presents now I`m 16, and I don`t really want to many games, therefore all my presents are cash or gift cards. Kinds ruins the fun of Christmas, opening an envelope instead of a present.

All the snow is melted. I would not mind that much, except for one thing: it all got replaced by rain. Heavy rain. Time for a song, I guess (from Sea Cottage, for all of you who have not gotten that far yet): The weather outside is dismal, Nothing short of abysmal, But as long as you'll soothe my pain, Let it rain! Let it rain! Let it rain! The torrent outside is falling, In volumes appalling, But as long as me you adore, Let it pour! Let it pour! Let it pour! Out of the sky come cats and dogs, Turning the streets into bogs, But as long as me you won't drop, Let it plop! Let it plop! Let it plop! Best to get in the Christmas spirit regardless of the weather.

Well, there's snow here and it's FREEZING outside. I can't go out of the house without catching a cold.

I went outside in the rain and caught a cold. It gets on my skin and clothing, then cools my skin and makes me sick. Not pleasant.

Let's not turn this into a thread about sicknesses.

I agree. Now, does anyone have family coming over? My Iranian grandparents are coming in a few days.
Also, Christmas fun fact:
December 25 was the date of the celebratory festival of the Mitra religion, founded in Persia, before it was selected as a date for the Roman Saturnalia, the Pagan Samhain and then the Christian Christmas.
