I'm not able to do it (yet) thanks to my internet's RIDICULOUS SECURITY. Hopefully I'll have gotten through the 78 firewalls by tomorrow.

I have made a decision. I'm not going to EV train this generation, at all. I made a couple meager attempts to in generation 4, and figured I'd try my hands at it occasionally in Black, but I've made the executive decision that I am not going to touch that aspect of the game, period.
Why the change of heart? Cause it hit me today: Pokemon are supposed to have random, thrown-around stats. Not just because "every Pokemon is a unique individual" - not everyone buys into that, especially not the competitive players. Every Pokemon is, however, a series of advantages and disadvantages, and random stats are a part of the balance. It's what keeps middling-stat mons with decent moves on equal footing with uber-mons with unfortunate stat spreads.
EV training was never accounted into the balance of the game; max stats on every team was never accounted into the balance; natural random handicaps were.
Oh good, there's a slight chance I'll still be able to make Victini. So if this is the week of the 15th, and the 27th is at the edge of two weeks and if I account for travel time to Kuwait then the States... yeah, still likely gonna miss out on it.

Today I EV trained Nico the Deino, and I just evolved him into Hydreigon. I also taught him Flamethrower and Focus Blast.
Once I start raising my EV trained pokémon to level 100, I know Nico's definitely going to be one of my toughest fighters.

If Mons were meant for best EVs, they would have been born that way.

There's nothing wrong with EV training.
IV training, on the other hand... That shit is horrible. Sometimes you have to make your pokémon inbreed in order to get good IVs, and that's just disgusting. I've never IV trained my pokémon, I just like to catch/breed pokémon with good Natures and then EV train them. It's easy, and it doesn't involve incest.
