What Cabinet said.
Really, Panda. There's no point in discussing this any further, it will get us nowhere.

Also, who says something has to be female to give birth? The world is a strange place. Technically the male seahorse gives birth, even though the eggs are formed in the female.
Oh, and then there's asexual reproduction. Think outside the box, not everything has to form-fit human society- it's ridiculous when you try and force traditions of human society on things that aren't human.

That's not how it works in pokemon though. Though Ditto sort of fits the whole sexual oddity thing.

I'm a little late to the party, BUT! In regards to memorial Towers in Pokemon such as seen in Lavender town etc... Bear in mind that the landmass containing Kanto, Johto, etc are the Pokeworld's Japanese counterparts. They set up markers for cremations and mass graves, as seen above. In fact, structures like Lavender Tower can be seen as advancements on the tradition of laying the bones of the deceased beneath pagodas - in the PokeWorld, the bones/ashes of the deceased go WITHIN massive pagodas, rather than beneath, with the markers and memorials forming a maze of remembrance and devotion throughout the layered floors. Come to think of it... perhaps that is why there are no ground-floor graves. The earth beneath the pagodas are where all the bodies are laid. The space here is left clear for when further mons need to be interred; the upper floors are reserved for the physical markers. The only limits to understanding are those we place on ourselves.

Here's a good one.
Why does Ash's Pikachu struggle and even sometimes FAINT in battles if he's been through 4 regions worth of trainers turning to 5?

Because there is no formal level up system in the Anime. You rely on strategy, and strategy alone. Or brute force if you have the right Poké for it. But it has to be Strategy with a Pikachu most of the time.

Ash's Pikachu has faced a lot of Pokemon, a lot of them a LOT tougher than him, and they've been exploring the world for YEARS. Pikachu reached Lv. 100 a LONG time ago, so there's no where else for him to go. He's capped.
...Only problem is, since Ash is such a bad trainer, even compared to rookie video game players, his Pikachu picked up Really bad EV spreads. And have you seen Pikachu's attitude in the anime? He's completely unfit for combat, except for maybe an unusually good SpAtk and Speed. He's been raised without any actual combat tactic in mind, and thus has completely atrocious Def and SpDef.
As such, when he goes to a new region... he'll do just as well against the local Zubat-types as he would against the Mewtwo-types, with no chance to Ever improve. Sometimes he may get lucky and totally trounce someone, but most times he's facing far better mons than he could hope for.

Why does Ash's Pikachu struggle and even sometimes FAINT in battles if he's been through 4 regions worth of trainers turning to 5? Pikachu suddenly became weaker in the beginning of Ash's Unova journey because Zekrom stole some of his power. Haven't you watched the first episode of the 14th season?!

Pikachu regained his powers the next episode. It's just the whole "mixing anime with video games" logic going on.

Haven't you watched the first episode of the 14th season?!No. No I haven't, and I don't think I will because I don't have a channel that keeps up the the episodes. All the while everyone's been spoilering it for me but that's cool. The closest I've ever been to watching the Anime is the movies and maybe Season one of DP and a bit of the first season, and even then that's just a fraction of the whole show. And I know the games are different from the anime but I'd at least expect some sort of strength that pikachu has gained in the series. I mean, he's got enough lightning to blast Team Rocket away and even fill a whole arena with static and electricity, but still struggles with battles?

Stop talking about the anime, this isn't the place for it. The OP clearly states that this thread is for the Pokemon GAMES.
If you want to talk about the anime side of things make a thread for it. Don't talk about it here.

Damn, I was just about to give you a theory of how Pikachu gets reset to level 1 at the beginning of each region... Oh well.

Hmm... Inconsistencies of the Pokemon games...
Octillery, Glalie, Smeargle, and Bibarel.

...Bibarel? Anyway, I've got one. How come every Pokémon Professor's surname is a tree? That's one hell of a coincidence!
